Denouement

/"You knew? You knew they would arrest you but you still helped us? Why didn't you ask for immunity? You could have done something?/" I cried out desperately.

/"Honestly, I didn't want to. I'm just getting what I deserve./"

/"Stop saying that! Stop thinking you're the bad guy, you're not! You're a good man./" I said angrily.

The sound of a car arriving made everyone look towards the door. Rachel's slim figure came into view, she ran towards Jacob and threw her arms around him. She had obviously been worried for his safety. I could see Daniel step in behind her. His eyes scanned the room, when they caught mine he broke into a jog.

/"Ree, I was worried sick! Thank God you're okay./" He breathed as he hugged me.

My eyes caught the figure walking through the door.

Mr. Anderson?

He approached us and his face broke into a small, somewhat relieved smile.
