章 25: final separation
wanted to see her face again, even if it's for a brief moment but it was all in my head, who knew a bigger problem was awaiting me at home.
Of course! My parents would have searched everywhere for me, I was locked up for six days.
I dragged my feet to our mansion and expectedly,I met my family outside and some cops.
Max coughed out blood the moment he sighted me. Apparently, my father had him tortured about my whereabout but max never spoke up
"Max!" I rushed towards him worriedly "are you okay?why...you should have told them where I was!" I said
"I just didn't want to put anyone in trouble" max said weakly
True, king Larson might lock up my family if they came for me.
"See? I told you he knew where my son is!" Dad said angrily
"You didn't have to beat him up like this dad, you know very well that more than anybody, max always puts me first" I retorted and dad landed a slap across my face
"You would not speak to me in that manner young man, do you know how worried I've been?" Dad said angrily and I scoffed
"Worried? Do you even consider me your son? I can see you came back with a new son" I said eyeing the new boy standing beside mother, the boy was mack
"Watch what you say to me Jason, the whole family has been looking everywhere for you, the least you could do right now is to f*cking apologize to everyone, do you understand what I'm saying at all" dad said angrily
"Of course, but I owe no one an apology" I said stubbornly and another slap Land on my face.
It was from my mom this time.
"How rude! You would not speak to your father like that!" She said angrily and I laughed bitterly.
"You guys should have just aborted my pregnancy or abandoned me after conceiving me, it is much more better than this maltreatment" I yelled angrily
"You ungrateful bastard!" My dad gritted his teeth angrily "officers, arrest this man, he might put my son in danger next time when I'm not around, you know how dangerous our environment is" dad said referring to max and I shook my head in disapproval
"Dad,let them take me instead, max has absolutely nothing to do with this" I said and tears rolled down my cheeks as the police dragged max away
"Grandpa, say something, please let them spare max, he's innocent" I cried violently but no one listened
I guess there was nothing my grandfather could do
"Take him inside" dad ordered and the guard also dragged me inside where I was locked up for several days
Few days later, when I was finally allowed to come out, everywhere was empty
"What's happening grandpa?" I asked curiously
"We are moving son, your father wants to move to the city" grandfather replied
"What! But...I mean, grandpa it's your properties,why do you let father decide everything, every time? It's annoying" I said angrily
"I put your father in charge temporarily,let him use his time son" grandfather said meaningfully with a cunning smile and I sighed angrily
"Ugh! This is Soo annoying!!" I grumbled in protest and stomped my foot to my room
"Jason pack up quickly! We're leaving in two hours!!" I heard mom's voice and scoffed in annoyance
I started arranging my things and came across the soulmate bracelet Isabella made and gave to me. I wondered how she was doing and I hoped she's doing very well.
I wanted to see her one last time but that was impossible.
I put on the bracelet on my wrist and smiled bitterly
"So beautiful!" I mumbled
"Jason what...."
"I'm done packing up!'' I cut my mom short and dragged my luggage behind me, the maids rushed to collect it as they sighted me dragging it behind me .
"What is that you're wearing?" Dad suddenly asked, referring to the bracelet I was wearing and I quickly hid it behind my back
"It's...it's nothing, grandpa said he saw it and just bought it randomly for me" I stuttered
"Father,is that true?'' dad turned to grandfather
"Yes, I got it for him!" Grandpa replied
"Dad, how many times would I tell you, don't make Jason wear these things, he's weird enough" mom said "com'n, give it to me, I'd get you a nice wristwatch instead" mom said in addition and I cringed back
"No,I would take care of it myself instead, I'd throw it away on our way out" I said
"You needn't throw it away, I'd take care if it, now pull it off" mom said sternly
"But mom...grandpa got it for me" I protested
"That's the only reason I'm going to keep it and not throw it away, this time I won't take no for an answer, let me have the bracelet,now!" Mom said, already getting angry.
"Grandpa?" I turned to him for help and he smiled
"Fine, Rosa let me take the bracelet back since I got it for him" grandpa said and I smiled triumphantly and gave the bracelet to him
"If I see you wearing it again, I would actually dispose it in the trash can" mom said and I smiled
"Okay, can we go now?" I said and we all thrusted out.
There I sighted mara in a corner side, peeking into our compound.
Guess she's looking for max. I wondered if Isabella was with her, but I can't risk blowing mara's cover so I ignored her and entered the car.
I suddenly heard her scream. It was the head guard who captured her after trailing her.
I wonder what would become of her. She didn't even get to see max. Isn't fate so cruel?
"Grandpa, the bracelet....give it back, I promise not to wear it" I whispered as low as I can and grandpa gave me his signature smile and whispered back
"Not now son,it's not time to give it back"
