Fu Zheng also stopped and listened carefully to the commotion not far away. He seemed to hear a voice calling out for Ling.

"Quick! Let's head towards the sound."

"Mm-hmm!"

"Father, Father! I'm here, Father."

Ling opened her mouth and responded to the shouting.

Fu Zheng quickly covered Ling's mouth when he heard that.

Ling looked at him with a baffled expression. She did not understand why he did that.

Fu Zheng lowered his voice and said, "Don't shout yet. What if you lead the bad guys to our location?"

Ling covered her tiny mouth foolishly.

The two of them continued to walk forward, but before long, two figures walked out of the forest and blocked their way.

Fu Zheng immediately stood in front of Ling warily when he saw them.

"Who are you?"

The two figures exchanged looks with each other.
