章 97: My true form has grown.
I had woken early the next day and got up to find suitable clothes to wear.
'I'll have to go back to my human form.'
I transformed into my human form and then opened the wardrobe.
'Thankfully there are clothes I can wear.'
I took out some black cargo trousers, a white cotton T-shirt and a black crew neck jumper.
"*yip?*" -> "are you going out?"
"Yes, I am, I'm going to have a look around the ravine and go hunt some stuff while I'm at it."
"*yip*." -> "I'll just be here then. Have fun."
I hummed in response and put on my clothes after a quick shower. I left the house and walked across the nearest bridge that led to the other side of the ravine.
"Good morning your majesty!" A harpy bowed to me as I passed.
"There is no need for that, get up." I said to the harpy.
"Of course, your majesty!" The harpy got up and continued on their way.
I didn't look back as I continued walking across the bridge.
'Should I just fly all the way to the end of the ravine and look around the lake for a bit then fight some monsters and come back or do a quick loop of the ravine and go to the volcano to fight some monsters?' I contemplated before deciding, 'I'll go and see if there are any monsters at the lake and then go to the volcano to fight since there were a bunch of monsters there before.'
I used magic to lift off into the air and fly over to the lake at a rapid speed. After a short while of just lava upon lava and house upon house all along the ravine, I eventually got to the lake at the end.
'So my [Mastered spacial awareness] was correct, there are no life forms in this lake at all. It isn't warm water that fills this lake either, it's cold.'
I crouched at the edge of the lake and dunked my hand in.
'Strange, could it be under the influence of magic? There isn't any magic active in the area so that can't be the reason. I can't think of a reason for the water to be like this. Never mind.'
I got up and looked around as I heard rustling in the bushes and subconsciously checked my [Mastered spacial awareness].
'What's Ruri doing here?'
I looked at Ruri's figure which emerged from the bushes.
"Your majesty? What are you doing up at this time and so far away from your home no less!" Ruri shouted as she ran over to me, "what are you doing so close to the water?"
"Do you know why it stays cold despite the climate here?" I asked, ignoring Ruri's questions.
"Apologies your majesty, I do not. Would you like me to escort you back home?"
"There is no need for that, I'm going to the volcano to fight some of the monsters there."
"If that is the case then I shall go with you," Ruri bowed, "it is not safe for you to go alone. Although I saw your fight with the boss I still don't agree on letting you go alone."
'That reminds me, I didn't get EXP from the boss. Will it be given once I exit the dungeon?'
"If you really want to then alright. If you get injured I won't help."
"That is alright." Ruri stood up and looked at me with the utmost confidence, "I won't get injured."
"Alright."
I jumped into the air and used my magic to keep myself airborne.
'Now that I think of it, can't I use all my elements? There is no one to see me use them, other than the harpies, so I guess it's alright for me to use them.'
I flew over to the volcano quite fast but not fast as I could but saw Ruri struggling to keep up a bit so I slowed down a little which helped Ruri keep up with me.
It didn't take too long to get to the volcano and I landed on the ground gently as the dust scattered away from me in clouds.
"I should make it so the dust doesn't even shift when I land. I'll have to improve my magic a bit." I muttered to myself as Ruri landed behind me.
I turned to face Ruri, "Ruri, do you know my race?" I asked.
"Of course, why wouldn't I? You are a human, aren't you?" Ruri tilted her head slightly in confusion.
"This is just a disguise. I am planning on being my true self while I'm in this dungeon as I haven't done it much, especially when I was at Kerose academy." I said before continuing, "I was planning on saying this tomorrow but I guess it's fine to do it sooner."
'Actually, before I transform, does it destroy my clothes? System?'

'Thank you system.' I paused for a second and looked back at Ruri.
"I am a dragon." I said with my expression not shifting once which made Ruri confused on if I was speaking the truth or lies.
"I can tell you don't believe me." I said, still emotionless, "I'll show you. I am a Black elemental wyrm."
Ruri's eyes opened wider as I said that.
'[True dragon]'
Warmth enveloped me and my body emitted a small amount of purple light.
My figure grew to over 10' in height it was over 13' at least but less than 16' and I was 30' in length which is including my tail. My wingspan was about 60'.
'When did my true form grow this much? Weren't dragons meant to be about 2' taller than in human form or does that only count until a certain age so your human form doesn't get so tall? I'll assume that that's the case.'
My main colouring was black and my spikes along with my eyes were purple but underneath my tail and at the tip of my horns were coloured faintly in purple as well.
Ruri looked up at me with her mouth agape.
"What? Never seen a dragon?" I asked genuinely.
"How could I? I've only heard of them from the books humans brought here and dropped once they died to the boss!" Ruri shouted.
"I can hear you even if you don't shout so don't raise your voice unnecessarily."
"Sorry your majesty, I got a little excited so please excuse my behaviour." Ruri bowed before straightening up, "May I?" Ruri asked as she gestured to touch my feathers.
"Sure." I said as I unfurled one of my wings and moved it towards Ruri who eagerly grabbed hold of a feather and stroked along my wing.
"Wow, your majesty, you have really soft wings unlike ours. Do all dragons have feathered wings? In the books it said that they had scaled wings but yours aren't?"
"From the dragons I have personally seen, I am the only one to have feathered wings. I might be a mutation or something." I said, not entirely sure.
I lifted my head up and looked around. From my new change in height and perspective change it took a little while to get used to it but since it was my body it felt natural so it took no longer than a minute.
I looked back down, "Multiple creatures are fleeing the area, is it due to my transformation?" I asked Ruri.
"Hm…. Most likely. You are a large being, not trying to be offensive towards you, and your sudden appearance might have startled the weaker ones but I'm sure the stronger ones will be heading over here."
"That's not the case. Every being in the surroundings are fleeing, should I reduce my size?"
"You can reduce your size? Also how can you tell it's all the creatures that are running away, of course I trust you but it's impressive that you know that."
"Just call it instinct." I replied as my body shone a faint purple light before my size shrunk down by a fifth, "this should be alright."
"Still a little big since you're around 10'5 but it should be alright since you can still hide behind the trees."
"Should I shrink further?" I asked.
Ruri shook her head, "you should be fine as you are but if you think it's necessary then you should shrink down to no more than 8' or so."
"I'll trust your judgement for now." I said as I closed my wings again and began walking towards where the groups of monsters were.
'I should be faster in this form since it makes no restrictions to my power. Should I let Ruri on my back?'
I looked over at Ruri and reached out with one of my front legs. I held her in my hand and flew up into the sky.
'I'll just hold her.'
"Woah!" Ruri was startled from me suddenly picking her up but calmed down soon after.
Noticing that she calmed down, I flew at a group of 40 salamanders and landed with a lot of force. My landing caused the ground beneath me to tremble and a small crater to form underneath where I stood.
The salamanders were either crushed by me landing on them or pushed back by the impact of me landing.
They were visibly shaking once they took a single glance in my direction and the three corpses below me.
'[Elemental breath]'
I could feel heat welling up in my throat as I prepared to release a lightning breath on the salamanders surrounding me which were slowly backing away.
I involuntarily snarled as I released the lightning breath which incinerated the salamanders closest to me and caused the others to burn in violent purple flames and sparking lightning.
"Oh my." Ruri said with a hand over her mouth and looked up at me with a smirk, "you're rather strong aren't you, your majesty. Much stronger than the boss."
I ignored Ruri as I looked at the remaining 5 behind me. With a swish of my tail, the spear like tip slashed through their seemingly fragile bodies and killed them instantly. Blood leaked from their wounded corpses in a constant flow of red that covered the floor under them.
'Easier than expected.'
I flicked my tail to get the specks of blood off of it.
I could feel Ruri's strong gaze and looked down at her.
'Why is she staring at me like that?'
