章 66: Dinner with family
"Mom we are home" Alec announced as they walked in through the back door. She had insisted that he go through the main door but he refused to follow her.
"Mom am back again," he said next to Alex.
Her mother turned from the kitchen counter facing them. The maid took over for her. She opened her arms for Nathan, he walked into them hugging her.
"Welcome," she said with his height it seemed like he was the one hugging her
He smiled hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead.
"I missed that smile, mother," he said letting go to face her.
Her mother touched his face gently, "Am happy you made it" she said.
Alex moved close pouting, "I feel so left out now"
Nathan pulled her into her mother's arms, "There...we can never leave you out" he said.
"Rosa can you hurry up with the food, that rude not will come anytime soon..... Mrs White walked in yelling but stopped when she saw Nathan in the kitchen.
He smiled," I see you haven't changed "
She gasped," Oh, you arrived, welcome again into my home "
He nodded." Thank you "
Alex and her mother let go.
"I heard you having dinner with us "she added.
"Am having dinner with Alex and her mother "he corrected.
Cynthia's mother glanced at Alex and her mother and smiled coldly.
"Am sorry for my mistakes, I hope you enjoy your dinner then?" she said walking away.
Nathan turned to the two women, his smile returning.
"Mother if everything is ready let's eat, Alex has been claiming to be starving "
Alex frowned," I didn't, it was you"
Nathan chuckled," Okay it was me ".
"See it was him "Alex giggled
They all laughed.

"I thought we were having a guest, why are we only two here "Mr White asked his wife
"Dad try to use your ears, don't you hear the laughter coming from the kitchen," his wife said
" I do so? "he said.
"The rude boy claimed he was having dinner with that maid & her daughter, "Cynthia's mother said.
Her husband frowned," So you mean his having dinner with them in the kitchen? "
Both women nodded.
He sighed," It's all your fault for insulting Alex during his father's birthday "
His wife gapped," It's always me, all I did was say the truth "
"What truth was that, just a bunch of nonsense and now he can't even tolerate sitting at the same table as you " he answered.
His wife bit her lip in anger. Her husband got up.
"They might be maids but they are more of a family than us, even Nathan sees that. They are all together and appreciate each other's company. But look at us, your daughter is missing again that's a headache we have to handle and then there is you, all you do is talk and curse everyone ". He pushed back his seat walking off.
"Where are you going? "his wife asked.
"To bed, I lost my appetite " he. said.
