章 45: Chapter 45: Family or Foe

Clare POV

I felt myself coming back to consciousness, but I still didn’t feel right. Something was wrong, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

What happened?

I recalled running through the pitch black woods, trying to escape the wolf chasing me and coming across a creek. I was so high on adrenaline and so in the moment that I hadn’t even noticed that I was reliving a vision that I had already had before.

It was slightly different, probably based on the choices I had made, but the result was the same. I was taken.

I remembered turning and seeing someone standing in front of me. Before I was able to speak or attempt to fight, a sharp poke stung my bad arm from a different direction. I looked over just in time to see a smug looking Troy staring back at me. And then, I lost consciousness.

Well, there went that plan.
