Julia Locke POV:
I went home after leaving Marcus and Rob, confident that they would keep themselves civil with each other. My sleep schedule was still messed up, so I was going to get a few hours before meeting up with the boys again.
Changing into my dressing gown, I slipped under my covers and snuggled into bed. It would have been nice to share the bed with Marcus, but I knew there would be plenty of time for that.
Soon, I slipped into a peaceful sleep.

The sound started as something like the whine of a mosquito, a sound you don’t really noticed until the pest is right on top of you. It was so quiet and far away that I didn’t wake up for it.
But then it repeated itself.
And the sound wasn’t just a whine this time. It was a scream.
When it repeated for a third time, it sounded as though someone was screaming right into my ear.
