Everyone was looking at them as they walked through the halls, which wasn't surprising considering the reputation of my sister Lorelei.
Despite the look that we are getting, we didn't pay any heed to any of it, Lorelei is completely unaffected by it, and while I felt a bit uncomfortable with their stares, unlike my sister I wasn't used to being stared intensely like this.
It would take a while to adapt, either way for now I'm doing my best to ignore it, by now everyone must have known me, as Lorelei's brother, it's hard not to when you literally have to introduce yourself in front of everyone in the department that you choose.
The reaction of my department classmates was still fresh in my mind, they were surprised by my identity, a Barthomeloi, not just anyway Barthomeloi either but the direct relative of the Queen Of The Clocktower Lorelei Barthomeloi.
Shirou was also surprised by this revelation, but compared to Rin's reaction it simply isn't comparable. If I only had a camera back then, her reaction was priceless.
Either way, in my opinion, they are making a big deal of my status, true I may be Lorelei's brother, but I haven't really achieved anything significant under my belt, and definitely wasn't a prodigy by any means.
After a few minutes of walking, we finally arrived at the cafeteria where Shirou works as a part-time chef slash waiter.
Lorelei suddenly frowned at the cafeteria, and her gaze shifted in my direction. "Is this your idea of a joke? If it is, then I'll allow you to admit it this time, however, there won't be next time, my time won't be wasted for a mere joke brother, I have better things to do."
Her voice was colder than Antarctica itself, it made me flinch for a bit, because this is new even to me, while she was cold most of the time, they weren't unbearable like this, meaning she's actually quite mad right now.
If this was a joke, I'd admit it right away, because frankly I haven't experienced Lorelei being mad at me, annoyed yes, plenty of times but she never got mad at me.
This is actually first, despite that I held my ground because this isn't a joke. I stared at her cold gaze with mine and replied. "I assure you sister, this is not a joke, do not think for a second that it is, because there's no way I'd waste your time if it isn't worth mentioning, while this might be a low-class cafeteria, do not assume that its food quality is the same."
Both of us were looking at each other's eyes unflinchingly for a full minute, then a ghost smirk appeared on Lorelei's lips and said. "Very well, if you go this far I suppose I have to try the food here."
After hearing that, I couldn't help but sigh in relief internally, that was intense, my back was sweating from that act alone.
"Then, shall we?"
Lorelei nodded and went inside the cafeteria, as we did the people who were inside the cafeteria were gawking at us, the staff was no exception.
However, I couldn't blame them for gawking in our direction, after all, it's not everyday that the Queen, the Vice Director of the Clocktower goes inside a low-class cafeteria.
It's something unthinkable, for someone with her status, it is beneath for her to even look at this place, so it's shocking for her to even enter the place.
Only thanks to me, she went here to a low-class cafeteria, without my intervention there's no chance of her knowing this cafeteria or even bother looking at it.
"Isn't that the Vice Director?!"
"We know! We aren't blind!"
"Why is she here anyway?"
"That's what we want to know as well."
Whispers didn't stop, until Lorelei glared at them, making them look away from her gaze. That's how scary she is, none of them didn't even dared to try making direct eye contact for fear of being targeted.
"Fools," Lorelei said.
I couldn't help but smile wryly after hearing her, after that we sat at a table near the counter, and as soon as we did a waitress immediately arrived at our table.
It was clear to us that this poor waitress was trembling, she wasn't even trying to hide it. I couldn't help but pity this girl.
Lorelei didn't comment at the waitress' obvious fear, probably used to it, looking at the menu for a few moments, then her gaze shifted toward the girl.
Who flinched at the sudden attention, despite that she managed to be professional and asked. "A-are you ready to order madam?"
"Hmn," Lorelei said.
After that, my sister gave her orders to the waitress, to my surprise she ordered a single unexpected dish, a shepherd's pie.
I thought she'd order a high-class dish, but that was just me assuming, after her. I also ordered mine.
It was pretty much the same meal I ordered a few days ago. I can't help it after tasting it for the first time. I've been craving it.
My taste buds desire it, who am I to stop it? I wasn't immune to my desire and that exactly makes me human.
The waitress bowed professionally at us, and left after listing our order, looking at her I could see her legs shaking a bit.
Shaking my head, I shifted my attention to my sister and said. "Shepherd pie huh? That's unexpected."
Lorelei looked back at me and huffed. "And?"
I smiled warily at her comment. "No, no nothing at all."
—
After several minutes of waiting, finally our orders arrived. I can hardly wait to eat my meal, however, I managed to stop myself and look at my sister.
I wanted to see her reaction, to be honest, I was nervous, my heart was beating more than it should.
Would she like it? Or would she not?
Lorelei inspected the shepherd pie for a few seconds, probably looking for a poisonous substance or something, and after confirming that there wasn't.
She took a knife and fork, and gracefully cut the shepherd pie into a perfect cube, which I honestly don't know was possible.
Lorelei slowly put it inside her mouth and started chewing the pie gently, there was no visible reaction from her.
Making me anxious, it felt like my heart was about to explode. Honestly, I was surprised that it didn't at this point.
After chewing the first piece of pie, then she took another and ate it, and again, repeating it until she finished it all.
I didn't even realize that until she ate the last piece of the pie, snapping out of my musing this time I wore a confident smile on my face.
Despite her lack of reaction, which was obviously controlled, there is no doubt she liked it or else there's no way she'd finish eating 1kg of shepherd's pie by herself.
One must know how picky an eater Lorelei was, it's not an exaggeration that even a meal that was made in a 5-star restaurant is inadequate for her taste.
For her to finish a meal, is an obvious sign that it's incredibly delicious.
"How was it?" I couldn't help but smirk in her direction.
Lorelei noticed this and snorted. "It was adequate."
My smirk became larger at her reaction, ladies and gentlemen our Vice Director snorted!
I wanted to laugh at that, however, I stopped myself because I have a feeling that it's not wise to do so. "I see, coming from you it must've been so delicious."
Lorelei rolled her eyes but didn't deny it making me smile widely, it was a success.
Then my sister called for the waitress and demanded to call the chef who made her pie, like brother and sister indeed.
I didn't pay attention to any of it, because I knew exactly what would happen, right now I'm focusing on the meal in front of me.
I took a bite of the chicken leg, and as expected it tasted heavenly. I was in my own world after that.
—
"The nerve of that chef!" Lorelei snarled.
Okay…I did not expect this outcome.
"That man dared to reject me, a Barthomeloi!"
Shirou Emiya rejected my sister's proposal to become her personal chef, and I was sure that he'd accept it due to my sister's status.
But he didn't, which was surprising, if Rin heard about Shirou rejecting the Vice Director herself, she'd have a field day with him.
Either way, I admit that guy had a balls the size of a planet, to reject my sister directly into her face without hesitation or regret.
Unlike me who was accepting of the fact that I wouldn't be able to hire Shirou as my chef, however, my sister was not, ever since she became the acting Vice Director of the Clocktower.
She pretty much got everything she wanted, and now she found out that she can't have one thing that she genuinely liked.
It was safe to say that she's more than annoyed right now.
"I should punish that man for disrespecting me." Lorelei ranted, to make my sister react like this is an achievement in itself.
As this was probably the only time I'd seen my sister let out plenty of emotions in one moment.
Anyway, I should calm her down, as this is the only thing I could do so that my favorite chef won't be punished, after all, I owe him for such a great meal.

What Lorelei wants, Lorelei gets, however, that isn't the case with Shirou Emiya.
This is what happens when an immovable object and unstoppable force meet each other.
Also I've dragged this long enough, after one or two chapters I'll start the shop.
