For whatever happens in the future, Airon wants to give his best at all times and make every drop of sweat and blood worth it. Right now, people who decided to join his community are dying every day in pursuit of a goal that has brought them all together.
Everyone is desperate after a year and a little more with walkers, the few that are left are true survivors and the strongest end up eliminating each other.
Airon feels that from the beginning he has not had a single moment of peace, searching for weapons, resources, planning every tiny detail so that there would be no mistakes. Shooting, killing, saving and making the best use of his advantages against others has become second nature.
When will all this come to an end?
Airon doesn't know the answer, but what he is sure of is that before long he will start to stop being so focused on the tiny missions. Once he solves the problems here, the only one left for him will be to handle the main missions.
He had worked very hard since the beginning, at first he might fool himself that it is because of the people around him, but now he is sure that all of them are his family of which he is willing to do everything.
Therefore, even if he is one more survivor making the best use of the things around him for the good of him and his people, he will not regret it. In fact, he has never regretted anything.
"Well, it looks like we can have a proper conversation now." Airon looked at Ezekiel and then was trying to get something out of the backpack Glenn had left before he left.
Under Ezekiel's stunned gaze, he looked at Airon silently and then watched as Airon pulled out a functional laptop and placed a video that needed only a button to play.
"I'll introduce myself again..."
As he said this, Airon pointed to his shoulder and said, "My full name is Airon Darcy, leader of the S.C.T. community and to many a military man in every sense. Today, thousands of people depend on my choices and all of them have decided to share my unique goal for the future."
He needs people, as many people as possible with leadership airs. He knows that people like Carol or Morgan have been a bit forgotten in his plans and the only thing he doesn't do anything about is because he doesn't have time.
"I know what the military did, Operation Cobalt authorized a purge around the country without exception in a last ditch attempt to stop the epidemic."
"Exactly why are you telling me that?" Ezekiel asked with a frown, he knew he could act much more clearly now, but trusting someone who claims to lead thousands of people is not a safe thing for him and his people.
Now he hoped to find out exactly why Airon and his people came to his community, so he could be better prepared in the future.
"We are preparing a cure, at the central base of my community there are top scientists in the world and they themselves shared information with labs in France, but you know the most ironic thing about all this?"
Airon looked at Ezekiel, this was the first time he told something like this to someone so suddenly, so he only expected a good performance as a response from the man in front of him.
"What's going on with France? Don't tell me... They were able to fight off the virus?" Ezekiel stood up in exultation, Shiva next to him even stirred a little.
"They won? You could say their situation was worse than ours." Airon pointed to the computer on the table and pressed the button to play the video and the same scene Deanna saw was witnessed by Ezekiel, so he continued, "France developed a more violent, lethal virus with different variants of walkers."
"Can you imagine that in just a few breaths after being bitten you can become a walker? Have you seen walkers climb walls or open doors? No, rarely does this happen, but I recently led an elite squad to clear out a military camp, but we found what appears to be a variant of walkers in our country."
"These are what we call runners?"
As Airon said this, he saw Ezekiel's expression while watching the images playing on the video. The video showed everything Airon had observed since the mission began, movements were shown and even words were heard.
Upon entering the military camp, numerous corpses could be seen on the ground, so Ezekiel was not very surprised and not at all surprised. However, when Airon entered the hut where that soldier was lying on a kind of bed, it could be seen how seconds after he wanted to leave that place, the walker got up.
What kind of walkers get up after they are dead, resurrect?
"That's impossible..."
Ezekiel sat back down so as not to alarm anyone in the vicinity, his fingers flexed his nails anxiously. If now it's not enough to deal with protecting this place and negotiating with an unknown person, he was seeing information that very few know.
But when that special walker appeared, and much earlier when all the walkers in the military camp stood up, the blood in Ezekiel's body cooled and a layer of sweat formed on his body.
"If I may ask, where was the video thing?" Ezekiel moved his gaze to Airon in search of answers, he needed to know where those special walkers were supposed to be.
"Don't worry, they were eliminated and apparently they are not as common as you imagine. In that case, my people will send the corpse of that walker who surprisingly has stayed in shape to the central base of my community."
Airon paused, looked at his surroundings and said, "I am looking to protect, expand and create. If you agree to have your people in this place join the S.C.T. community they should fear nothing, we will protect them and the elders could be moved to a much safer place than this."
Ezekiel looked at Airon and said, "This place is safe, it has been safe since it was created for protection purposes."
Hearing this, Airon could only laugh and pointed out, "You are losing nothing by accepting my proposal, we will reinforce your base and quite possibly expand it or move directly to another much more favorable location."
"Don't answer me now, we will possibly meet again sooner than expected. If you accept it, I will send an elite squad of fifty experienced soldiers. Of course, they will also come with medicine, food and weapons."
Airon stood up and held out his hand, "Our community seeks to recreate human civilization again, we will adapt as we have to this new world, but it will be up to your choice to be a part of it or not."
Airon didn't want to say many more words, he had mentioned and shown what he wanted Ezekiel to know and he will do so with the leaders of the communities he has visited. His numbers may be minuscule in comparison to those of his base, but if he manages to gather all the communities in this place, a super community would be created.
Ezekiel looked at Airon's outstretched hand, if he was honest he couldn't imagine being lied to so far. He knew how to act very well, and Airon's performance might be one of the best. Deliberately this man pushed away all his subordinates and spoke alone on this matter, leaving everything in his hands and at the same time hidden from others.
If he accepts, he will get help and if he doesn't he will get nothing. Ezekiel hesitated for a moment before extending his hand, really right now looking at things in general he needed help and Airon was one of those who could help him.
"I'll have to think it over, but for now I'm trusting your words." Ezekiel said before shaking Airon's hand.
The following went very well, the Kingdom got what it needed in exchange for what it wanted, and the thoughtful Ezekiel and his team were also happily holding toilet paper, medicine and some weapons . .
"Airon, my friend, the door to the Kingdom will always be open to you and your people."
Standing in the square, Ezekiel shook Airon's hand again and happily told him that this transaction was much needed for the Kingdom, and with this they replenished their medicine, weapons and some fuel.
And what they paid for was only some grain, vegetables and four pigs, which was not much because Richard had obtained many wild pigs in the vicinity. Although he had not completely trusted these people, the two parties had already reached the basis of mutual trust and Ezekiel knew that they were not looking for anything more.
And this is what Airon needs. Trust is based on a good reputation. In recent days, the two forces do not need to have much trust in each other. The transaction in which each takes what they need also symbolizes what they both want.
George's shout came from the modified RV, and the convoy was ready to depart, while Airon and Ezekiel said their final goodbyes, and Airon finally averted his gaze to Shiva beside him, showing a questioning look, then looked at Ezekiel.
Daryl touched his forehead painfully, he knew what Airon wanted to do, once he told him he wanted to hug an ape and last time a giant tiger. But what he feared was that Airon would be attacked by this tiger.
"Can I say goodbye to her?"
Shiva was saved by Ezekiel before the end of the world, so he was the only one who could touch Shiva in the Kingdom. But he nodded unconsciously and was about to remind Shiva not to do anything, but he saw that the other party had reached out his hand towards the tiger's head.
Shiva let out a low growl of some revulsion, and raised his huge head that had been ambassador, and opened his mouth to let out a deep roar, but Airon continued to touch his head as if he hadn't heard.
He looked at Glenn who was petrified and said, "Look, he loves me."
Glenn looked at Daryl and then Daryl gripped his gun ready to save Airon if Shiva wanted to eat him.
