Due to the lack of electricity, the inside of the prison was very dark, but this did not bother anyone, with flashlights on weapons and hands, lighting was not a problem as everyone walked through the corridors, suddenly everyone came to a spacious hall.
The place was truly a mess, the situation upstairs is temporarily unknown, but it could be seen as a kind of warning room, while the downstairs is full of tables and chairs lying around, large amounts of garbage on the floor and a lot of dust covering the surroundings.
After entering inside, Airon scanned the surroundings as he slowly and silently moved forward with the others. He felt the surroundings as he smelled that kind of mixed smell between dust and dampness.
Daryl walked to the iron door that led to the cells, shook the door hard, only to find that the door was locked, he turned his head and whispered, "It's locked, we have to find the key to get in."
They all scattered and began to rummage around the room, after a while, they heard Felipe's voice from the guard's room on the second floor.
"I found it!"
Airon ran up to the second floor, he looked at Felipe and walked towards him where the guard's room was, he saw Felipe come in with a frightened expression and not wanting to move, he crouched down to take a look, and immediately remembered this scene when he saw the guard sitting in this small room.
In the chair was a corpse lying down, with its head completely tilted back and not making any movement. Looking from the front, it was impossible to determine whether it was a walker or a corpse, as the keys counted from his waist.
Although he vaguely remembered that this guard was completely dead, he still moved with concern, reached out slowly and removed the keys at his waist while also taking the guard's pistol.
Turning around, Airon looked at Felipe and handed him the guard's gun, "Nothing should be left behind, put that gun away, the guard is just a corpse and needs to be cleaned."
When he turned around, Airon came down the stairs with the keys in his hands. Felipe on his side swallowed saliva, he had come because he heard that Guillermo was wounded, but he never thought he would end up in this place.
When Airon got the keys, the rest of the problem could be solved easily. There were iron gates and bars everywhere in the prison. Without saying anything, before even entering the prison the priorities were clear. So everyone entered the first area without hesitation.
When Airon opened the gate to the bars, to everyone's surprise, there were very few walkers in the cells. Even on the second floor no walkers were found, and there were only one to two corpses on the floor with gunshots to the head.
It was clear that here they were all killed, most were most likely eliminated before they became walkers.
After walking to the second floor, Airon and the others finally found some walkers inside some cells, but because the doors were completely closed, Rick and the others took them out easily.
"There are twelve cells in this unit, and each room can accommodate two to three people, that is, at most about thirty people per unit."
Airon, who heard this, looked at the cells and said, "With some partitions in the hallway, this unit can store about fifty people."
Rick looked at the cell layouts and was pleasantly surprised at this place, it was more than perfect for living.
"No, let's count for now two people in a single cell. This unit holds twenty-four people. Our current group needs at least four units, let's move on!"
According to Airon's idea, it would be to check the whole place first, so as not to leave as many holes unsealed as in the original story, which would lead to many problems in the later stage.
In addition, the large amounts of resources he had were to be transported to this prison without leaving anything behind. Therefore, every nook and cranny of this prison would be of use.
Airon opened the next door and entered inside the corridor, he found that the corridor was much darker due to the power outages and also due to this place being an innermost area of the prison. He reached out to stop several people carrying the shields and signaled Glenn.
"Give me that bag!"
After taking a backpack handed to him by Glenn, Airon pulled out a dozen pistols and silencers, then turned to everyone and pointed, "The next step is very important, we have to walk in such a small and narrow space. We can't all go in now."
"For now, we need to pick a small number of people, Rick, Glenn, Daryl, we are to carry weapons while T-dog and Morgan carry a shield, we will go ahead, while the rest will be led by Shane, who is to check the blind corners of the yard and see that everyone is cleared inside already cleared."
"Remember to do what you can, don't rush if things get bad." Rick angled to his friend.
Shane nodded and called everyone to move to another location. Airon turned his head and found that neither Maggie or Otis had left with shane. He couldn't help but be surprised and said quietly, "What are you two doing, get out! Wait outside this place."
"Glenn won't come out, and I won't come out!" Maggie seemed stubborn, and Glenn at her side kept urging her to come out, but Maggie didn't move, she grabbed Glenn's hand and looked at Airon unwilling to leave
Otis, who was standing behind her, was even more confused. When was he dragged to the front? At this point, if he really doesn't leave, he will surely die.
Seeing Maggie's serious face, Airon looked at Glenn again and left only a few words, "You're very kind, if anything happens you'll have to explain yourself to Hershel."
Glenn nodded his head, much less how happy he was, Airon shook his head helplessly and could only signal them all to get out.
The place forward was completely dark, with the doors open on both sides, and the wide corridor could only accommodate four people at most.
Morgan and T-dog stood to one side with shields, with shields raised the others advanced behind them slowly.
Unlike everyone else, Airon pointed out that everybody on the ground that did not move was to be secured although the route would be slower but would surely be detailed in every way.
When every cell, every floor and every walker was secured, the place would be much safer for others to clean up with peace of mind.
So, you can imagine the speed of everyone's progress. Fortunately, this can achieve complete coverage. Airon would rather waste twice as much time investigating than lose good subordinates under their ranks.
Each cell and room in the prison corridor was carefully checked by several people, the corpses on the floor would be run through with a knife, but the few walkers in the cells and rooms began to unsettle the group, there was no walker for a while, where are those walkers? Indeed, outside their cells and rooms.
As the group of people came to a corner, and as soon as the light of the lanterns shone on their rotten faces, they saw many walkers densely surrounding a door.
The walkers who were stimulated by the light and sound, turned around and walked towards Airon and the others.
"Get down!"
When T-dog and Morgan heard Airon's roar, both people who were in the front row immediately slammed the shield on the ground, and then with their body being covered by the shields and flashlights pointed towards the walkers, the front was illuminated.
Just before those walkers moved towards Airon, Airon along with the others opened fire.
"Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang!"
One by one, bullets penetrated the heads of the corpses piled up in the front row, and everyone immediately opened fire.
"Bang! Bang bang!"
The loud blasts in the hallway immediately filled the atmosphere in the vicinity with a choking session. Fortunately, Airon handed everyone silenced weapons, so only muffled gunshots could be heard cracking the heads of those walkers.
The walkers in the first row fell to the ground with a thud, followed by the second row of walkers.
After the two rows of walkers fell, they also acted as an interception. The walkers in the back crowded and pushed the ones in front, some due to the corpses on the ground stumbled.
Airon shouted, "Focus on the walkers in the back, leave the fallen ones to me!"
After speaking, Airon focused on dealing with the fallen walkers on the ground, although everyone's aim had improved to some extent, they were still too inefficient at dealing with so many walkers in various directions.
Although Airon was the only one taking care of the walkers on the ground, the number of them was not low. In addition, the speed when changing chargers was so fast that during all this time no one let the walkers approach in their direction.
