章 24: Encountering Su Li's Ex

Whenever I am living my life happily it seems like everyone is against it.

What were the odds that I would meet Li Minghao, my ex here? But here he is.

He is a jerk through and through.

He made me feel insecure about myself, about my body and how I don't know how to talk nicely. And when he met his purpose he cheated on me with my only friend.

It took a lot of time for me to understand and accept that he was one who was wrong.

Even when I confronted he made it look like it was my fault for every mistake he made.

"What a coincidence, I never thought I'd meet you like this." He said while walking towards us.

Only when he came near, I realised that I was trembling a little.

It could have been ignored but Qin Feng still noticed it.

He reached to hold my hands and squeezed them gently, trying to assure me.

No matter how it might look, I am very calm from the inside. Or maybe I think.

I am no longer the same person I was before. I can face him head on.

I calm myself.

"Me either." I replied. It would have been best if we never met.

He turned to Qin Feng

"I am a good friend of hers." He introduced himself. I don't think I have seen someone this shameless. We can't even be considered friends now.

"Really, I haven't heard her mention you at all." I think Qin Feng guessed that I don't like him.

But like a dumb person Minghao, he doesn't understand the situation.

"She must have forgotten about it. Just like how she always forget to mention important things. We were in college together." He explains.

He can't wait to mock me as soon as we met. Can he? I roll my eyes at him.

By forgetting important things he meant not preparing a gift for my friend because I was hospitalized, not preparing food for him when I came late from my job.

There are many such cases like that.

Everything was my duty and my fault.

I was dumb to not realise that he just wanted a slave who would do everything he told and won't question him ever.

I tried to calm myself. I can't lose my composure here.

In the meantime he introduced his business enthusiastically.

He must have thought that since I am with Feng, and I wouldn't dare to speak bad about him, he can take advantage.

He would have thought that Qin Feng would give in to him if he told him we are friends. And I won't say a single thing. What a joke!

"How come I didn't notice you are this good at kissing others ass." I say interrupting his boasting about something he did.

He looks shocked that I dared to say something against him.

My comment slowly registered in his mind as his face turned visibly red.

He don't need to be angry because I won't be affected by him. I just feel good instead.

"It seems like you think everyone is like you."

He retorted.

"That's why you have been repeating about the future prospects of your business again and again. " I say.

He thought that since his impression in front of Qin Feng had been ruined he should destroy whatever impression Feng has of me.

"I know her too well. She used to go around and act like a victim but would feel secretly happy at others misfortune. "

I don't understand what he is trying to do by telling this.

Zhu Ling must have told him this. I didn't think he would be such an idiot to believe everything she said just because she was my only friend, who also claimed to know me the best.

I can only blame myself for being blind.

How can he ever treat me nicely when he can't even differentiate what is right.

"You are still as unsightly as ever. I doubt anyone would be keeping you. I told you that you should eat less, you just don't get my good intentions. I don't want anyone to see that you are this ugly." He looked at me and commented thinking that I would still be affected by his words like I used to.

I wonder what bad intentions mean if this is good in his language.

He really thinks that I won't retort.

"Don't think that since I am being quiet I can't speak. I still have proof of you cheating with Zhu Ling, so don't try to put the blame on me." I think I have never seen him this shocked. Well, it must have been a huge blow to his ego.

"And I think we parted ways a long time ago, so please remember that we are just strangers. Also, if I saw you badmouthing me one more time, I would beat the hell out of you. I promise you this." He might not know me but he knows very well that I keep my promises. And he is also aware that I am capable of doing that.

After hearing my words he ran away with his tail between his legs.

We left the venue and got back in the car.

Meeting my ex affected my mood, even though I hate to admit it.

I actually don't want to think about him. He doesn't deserve it.

I looked at the box lying on my lap, and it distracted me successfully.

When I saw this box I felt strangely attracted to these bangles. I can't describe it. If i told anyone this they would think that I am crazy, and just making an excuse to get this.

I don't know why I felt like that.

I know that Qin Feng is rich and he would have given that amount of money anyway, but I know that he bought this for me.

He doesn't think it's a big deal, but for me it is.

I don't know how I would repay him.
