Caspian and Felix were in the Alpha’s room. Sage walked in as Caspian was pacing, Felix sitting on the couch picking dirt from his nails. Sometimes, his nonchalance was a comfort. Other times, Sage felt like she could smack him.
“We need to talk about Nikolas,” Sage told them, barging in without knocking.
“What’s wrong with him now?” Felix drawled, not bothering to look up as she entered.
“He looks like death f*cking walking, that’s what’s wrong.” Sage’s magic flared with her anger and Caspian turned to her, pulling her into a hug.
“Hey, it’s okay,” he said gently.
Sage took a few breaths to calm her irritation. Her magic beneath her skin subsided, calming as well. She really needed to practice more on getting it under control. Since they had completed their bond, her magic seemed to be stronger, pulling from Caspian’s strength as a mate. While she wasn’t necessarily complaining, it seemed any strong emotion felt like it was enough to make her magic boil over.
