章 9: Chapter 9: Heating Up

Rhiannon's POV

The storage room again. She cursed herself for letting her guard down. She knew better than to be in such close quarters with him, especially down here at the end of the hallway away from prying eyes. Sure, anybody could come down here at any minute, but they wouldn't. Richard was in the office and Lauren was busy flirting at the bar.

She was in control here. She would play him like a fiddle. She wouldn't be just another one of his arm-candy girlfriends. Girlfriend? They weren't dating. He was one of her dad's best friends. This was insane. Get the d*mn gin and get back to the bar.

"Need help finding something?" he asked. His voice was so innocent. Of course, she had dreamt up all the tension between them. She was making a fool of herself with all of this.

"You know, I think I can carry a single bottle of gin back to the bar all by myself. In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a big girl now," she snapped.
