40% Reborn as Stiles Stilinski in the Orange County / Chapter 10: Talking to Allison [Edited]

章 10: Talking to Allison [Edited]

Stiles was drawing a lot of mean eyes on himself simply by being the first person to walk toward the pretty girl everyone spotted in the café.

But no one was acting on that spotting, that hot girl detection except him.

Why blame him?

He understood the envious girls, but not the guys his age—especially those who were already seated with girlfriends by their sides.

Records needed to be set straight…

Stiles was still a single dog.

If anything, he was the one who needed to be aggravated with these guys that came with hot girls that were drinking milkshakes with them.

Let single dogs do single dog things.

If Stiles didn't have the power of hormones and heart reading with him, maybe he would also have missed the chance to go and strike a conversation.

After all, nobody liked rejection.

The worst thing after being rejected was the delusions that somebody could tell oneself.

With the heart reading ability, Stiles no longer had to lie to himself to lick his wounds or wonder whether a girl's kind lies during a rejection were genuine or not.

In fact, before approaching a girl and getting to where they were, he could tell whether the flirting move was worth a shot or not.

Allison didn't glare when her gaze met Stiles' and she saw him walk her way.

She surprisingly licked her lips, fixed up her long, slightly wavy, curly hair to make it even prettier than it already was.

"Surprisingly".

That is, for everyone except Stiles…

This subtle move from her was the final dagger in the hearts of the onlookers—both men and women.

If things were retaining some unclearness before, with an aleatory ending in sight for Stiles' venturous move, they were less so now.

After witnessing her sudden action of reorganizing her looks, people in the café shop, like Stiles, could now see how events were about to unfold and where they were headed.

The lover boy Stiles, who had utterly fallen for Allison before she did this, couldn't help but smirk.

This smirk didn't go unnoticed by Allison when he stopped at her table.

Eyeing him oddly, during the silence, she stuttered clumsily, "What? S… something on my face? Aren't you going to introduce yourself?"

This kind of thing, with such an awkward guy, was a first for her.

Allison was used to being hit on, and she rejected any guy she didn't find to her liking.

She never had a boyfriend or any experience except turning away guys.

Stiles was throwing her off her usual stride.

It had to be said that her being new to Newport Beach and looking for friends also made her more vulnerable and left her more exposed to things like this.

Reading her heart, Stiles felt bad.

He stopped being cruel by being too happy inside and said, "My name's Stiles, what's yours?"

"A.... Allison." Allison reacted. She had completely forgotten about the fear that previously seized at her heart and mind.

Her heart was beating abominably fast.

So was Stiles'.

But that was his secret.

"You new here? I'm saying this as praise, but you don't exactly feel like you belong, pretty much like me." Stiles said.

"Y… yeah. I moved in last night." Allison frowned and swallowed her saliva, trying not to stare too strongly and be a weirdo. "I moved to Newport last night too."

She was liking what she was seeing and felt curiously kindled. The hormones were working.

"What a coincidence. I'm the same." Stiles smiled. "We should try to become friends, I feel."

"Sure?" Allison answered, seemingly unsure.

She answered with what Stiles understood as a "Foregone Conclusion With Question Marks."

A nice thing reserved for guys who were viewed as highly attractive by girls.

Allison had already given up control of the conversation.

She could only try to keep her unexpected joy under check and react without sounding too excited—to be chatted up by a super hot guy who was her type.

"What's your number? I don't live far, but I gotta go, dunno if you have anything planned right now?" Stiles asked.

Even though he didn't have a phone, he was going to remember her number.

He didn't even need to because they lived next door to each other in the same neighborhood.

He knew this because her aunt had come knocking this morning.

Allison had her mouth open, she was hesitant and was about to reply when Kirsten arrived and touched Stiles shoulder. She said, "Making new friends already, Stiles?"

She had a real smile on her face because she had finally stopped daydreaming about cheating on her husband.

Stiles was happy to find out this because he had stopped sending her pheromones for a while now.

"We just met." Stiles explained.

"Oh. She's pretty." Kirsten stated. "What's your name, young lady? Mine's Kirsten."

"Allison, ma'am." Allison stood hurriedly to return her gentle greeting.

"Haha, don't call me ma'am, call me Kirsten." Kirsten laughed. Starbucks bags in her hands, she said, "Okay, I won't impose on you kids, I'll leave you two alone."

"See you later, Stiles." She gave an inconvenient maternal wink, and her words were cloaked in obnoxious meaning.

Allison didn't know what to reply.

She just stared at Stiles and started to blush right away.

She was liking what she was hearing, so she wouldn't deny, of course.

Kirsten didn't appear disgruntled. He read how she didn't show it, at least, even if she was a little bittersweet from returning to reality in such a way.

One thought was driving Kirsten's mind, it was that stiles was a young man.

They didn't belong. Young people belonged together.

Stiles had no intention of correcting her new and improved ideas, even if she had misunderstood him.

She didn't need to know that he was into milfs and Julie Cooper.

Everything was his fault before.

He just said as he grabbed the bags, "No need to go and leave us."

"We can all leave together, unless you're not finished, Allison?"

When he made the remark, he was staring at the coffee Allison had just finished drinking before she began staring out the window, depressed, as if someone she knew had died.

Allison was originally hesitant.

She wanted to get to know Stiles.

Instead of complicating things for Stiles, Kirsten's arrival made things easier for him, such as leaving the café with Allison.

"Where do you guys live?" Allison asked, comforted by the presence of a woman—a mother figure at that.

Stiles would not take advantage of her, she reasoned.

They were just going to hang out as friends until she can decide whether he is worth meeting again.

Allison also felt she needed a friend and a group of friends now that she had moved to Newport.

She didn't know how things worked here and didn't want to blow her chance at a possibly bang-up friendship by being excessively guarded.

After all, she wasn't even sure Stiles was interested in dating her or something less moral.

It wouldn't be good to misinterpret him without getting to know him first.

She happened to be on vacation and had nothing better planned.

On the way back.

Stiles and Allison had discovered their origins and were talking about other topics. Laughing and teasing each other throughout.

They had a wonderful natural connection.

Gravity.

They didn't say it out loud, but they could tell there was more to their relationship than friendship.

It was simply too soon to make any clunky love moves, and they were enjoying each other's company as they learned more about each other.

Allison didn't pass judgment on him after learning he was from Chino and had been involved in a car theft.

Kirsten was walking into the house from the beach when Stiles asked innocently, "Want to go to a party tonight? There's this event…"

Allison's phone rang, and Stiles was cut off before he could finish his sentence.

"Hello?"

"Dad?"

It was her dad on the phone.

After she picked up the phone and listened for a few seconds, she looked in a certain direction with a hint of fear.

And great respect.

Stiles used his enhanced vision to look that way and immediately noticed a blonde man with blue eyes at a window.

This was the view from Allison's neighboring house's window. And the man standing by the window was her father.

Christopher Argent.

"Yes dad." Allison said, replying to her dad on the phone." I'm on my way back."

Allison then soon quickly hung up the phone.

After she hung up the phone, she apologized to Stiles, saying, "Sorry, I think I gotta go. My dad needs me. What were you saying earlier?"

"Nothing important. I'll see you later, don't worry about me. Go. I got your number." Stiles told her.

They lived closed by, and he wasn't worried about anything except being cockblocked like just now…

"Hmm. See you tomorrow." Allison nodded and turned to leave with a smile.

But suddenly, she came to a halt and turned back, a larger smile on her face.

Stiles was at a loss at first, but sighed as he read her heart as she neared and noticed Chris still watching them.

That girl Allison liked giving her dad shows… It was funny considering how they weren't dating.

Stiles remained motionless, awaiting what was to come.

He was welcoming it.

Allison kissed him on the cheek, and when she was happy with how things were going, she said, "See you."

She laughed to herself as she saw him not resist the kiss she gave him on his cheek.

She walked away quickly, her shoes leaving footprints in the sand.

Stiles looked in Chris's direction as she entered her house.

Chris was an oddball.

After giving Stiles the father nod, he went back inside his house and left the window.

Stiles breathed.

He returned to the Cohens' house, chuckling.

It was time for the party and for him to mingle with Newport's high society.

Author's Note

May the sexy book cover rest in peace. I liked it, too bad.

I've written more than I had planned. Tell me if it was bad.

This is an urban crossover with love and sports. In this story, Stiles will be a professional basketball player, so there will be some NBA basketball in it.
