Mu Yuze stared at him wide-eyed, unblinking. He did not even breathe. He Juan waited for the answer that did not come and eventually, he became worried that he had somehow broken Mu Yuze beyond repair…
Grasping Mu Yuze's chin, he shook it lightly. "Xiao Ze?"
Mu Yuze inhaled sharply. He Juan saw as understanding dawned on him through his dilated pupils and his quivering exhale. Mu Yuze could not seem to regain his senses even after trying. Amused, He Juan played with the soft strands of his hair and caressed the smooth surface of his cheek with a thumb. "So, aren't you going to give me an answer?" He asked, feeling cheeky for some reason.
Mu Yuze must have sensed the teasing in his tone because he squeezed his eyes shut firmly as though trying to gather whatever scattered thoughts that remained in his frenzied mind. "You…" He stuttered out. "I thought… you're here to… apologize."
"For?"
"For… whatever you said yesterday."
