章 159: Returning Home

Safira came up to the cliff. She knew this was where she would find her mate and she was right. Damien was in his wolf form at the edge of the cliff looking into the distance.

She could see the scars on his legs, where the injury once was. She knew every marking on her mate's body, especially the scars he accumulated. Her heart ached every time she traced her fingers over them, knowing the pain they had caused him.

All she wanted to do was to take it away.

"You know I can still feel you there, right?" Damien called out loud.

Safira bit her lip as she came out of her hiding spot behind some tree trunks. Damien shifted back into his human form to meet with her. She positioned herself right in front of him as she reached out to hold his hands in her own.

"We knew it wasn't going to last forever," she reminded him as she caressed the skin on the back of his hand, feeling the ridges on his knuckles.
