Damien chuckled. There were times he wondered if his mate was a grown woman or a child. Safira wanted the largest prize of the five that were offered.

He paid the stall holder for one try.

"Are you sure you only want one shot, sir? It would be cheaper to get three tries. It would increase your chances too," the stall holder suggested.

"One try is all I need," Damien replied calmly as he looked at the floating ducks.

He narrowed his eyes as he took every wooden duck into consideration. He saw how they bobbled in the water. Safira couldn't understand what he was looking at. She tried to see things from his angle but still, it didn't work.

"Starlight, I think…"

He shushed her, telling her to let him concentrate.

She didn't know the wonders of his way, but she trusted him. Surely the Alpha wolf had his way.
