Supreme Alpha Jake couldn't agree more. By now, everyone had heard of the wounds Alpha Markus had sustained. Rumors claimed that the Alpha would likely never walk again.

A smile formed on Safira's face when she heard it.

When Diana and Archer came to see her in the dungeon before the trial, she refused to speak about the matter at hand. She only wanted to know if there was any news about Damien.

"Is he awake? Did the Alpha squad receive my order?" She asked them eagerly.

She did not care for the torture she had suffered during questioning. All she cared about was the condition of her mate.

Diana and Archer both shook their heads.

"He's improving, but he hasn't woken up yet," Diana explained.

Safira looked down. She should be by his side, taking care of him at this time. And yet she was stuck here in the dungeons awaiting trial. But she had no regrets. She had avenged him.

"Safira, it's time for your trial," a werewolf guard cut short their conversation.
