章 19: Going Home

Safira leaned her head back, against the side of the pool and attempted to relax. While Damien sat next to her, humming a tune to pass the time. Somehow or rather, Safira fell asleep.

When she opened her eyes again, she quickly realized she was no longer in that cavern with Damien. She was on a different plane, just like the time she dreamt of her mother.

At first, everything was white, there was nothing for miles and miles in every direction. Then in a fraction of a second, a scene appeared before her. It was the same one.

Her mother cradled her, as a babe, in her arms, humming a lullaby.

"She has her father's eyes," her mother said with a tired smile.

Safira stepped closer and crouched down to look at the baby's eyes. She gasped in shock, unable to believe what she saw. Her own pupils were hazel brown but the baby had gold pupils, how was that possible?

Was this baby not her?
