As the sky began to light up with the first hints of dawn, the horizon was awash in a riot of colors. The clouds were tinged with shades of pink and orange, while the sky above them was a deep, almost electric blue. The sun peeked over the horizon, sending its golden rays cascading over the landscape. The Dreamland world was bathed in a warm, ethereal light, and everything seemed to be holding its breath in anticipation of the new day. The air was fresh and cool, and there was a sense of peace and tranquility in the early morning silence. As the sun continued to rise, the colors became more vibrant and intense, painting the sky with a dazzling display of hues. The world was transformed, and for a few precious moments, everything seemed possible.
Deep inside one of the lush forests of Dreamland, a strange situation occurred as Zhongli awoke from his breakthrough. He could feel the spiritual Qi of the world pulsing through his veins, a wild, untamed energy that was at once exhilarating and terrifying. The dense forest around him was alive with the sounds of birds singing and small animals scurrying through the underbrush, and the air was filled with the fresh, earthy scent of the trees and plants that thrived there. Zhongli could sense the delicate balance of the natural world, and the way that every action they took could have far-reaching consequences. The Spiritual Qi seemed to flow through him, filling him with a sense of power and purpose. He could feel the spiritual Qi coursing through his veins, a force that he could harness and shape to his will. With this power, he felt capable of anything.
(Cough)
Hearing a series of coughs, Zhongli turned to see Lin Lai, who was standing a few feet away from him. Her skin was pale and clammy, and she was sweating profusely. She was moving slowly and unsteadily as if her body was too weak to support itself. Her eyes were glassy and unfocused, and she was barely able to keep them open. She was coughing frequently, and each cough was followed by a racking, body-wracking spasm. She was clearly in the grip of some sort of illness, and it was taking a heavy toll on her.
Feeling someone tapping on his shoulder, Zhongli turned to see the Bowman holding up a wooden sign for him that read, "She is sick."
"I see," Zhongli said as he took note of Lin Lai's condition.
The Bowman then held up another wooden sign that read, "A race has been announced to a pharmacy in the town to the north. One member of the established groups will get sick and they have to deliver them to the center. The winners will get Body Strengthening Pills as a prize."
Zhongli raised an eyebrow at the strange race given, but nodded his understanding.
(Cough)
Lin Lai's coughs brought Zhongli and the Bowman's attention back to her. Without hesitation, Zhongli immediately removed his jacket and covered Lin Lai's freezing body with it. The Bowman raised a sign that read, "What are you doing?"
"It'll cut the chills for now. Let's move on," Zhongli replied.
The Bowman then raised another sign that read, "You go on ahead, I will make sure no enemies are on your path."
"Are you sure?" Zhongli asked, to which the Bowman nodded. Without hesitation, Zhongli picked Lin Lai up in a bridal style and set off towards the pharmacy in the northern town, with the Bowman following closely behind, keeping watch for any potential enemies.
" One question, did you make all those signs? Wouldn't it be easier to write on the ground ?"
The Bowman raised another sign that read.
" An artist's passion shouldn't be wasted on the ground."
" Sure," Zhongli said as he took a step forward before blasting through the forest at high speeds with the Bowman sighing as he turned back.
.....
As he sprinted through the abandoned town, Zhongli couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The streets were empty and overgrown, the buildings crumbling and derelict. The windows were shattered, and the doors hung open on their hinges, creaking ominously in the wind. The only sound was the soft rustling of leaves and the occasional chirping of birds. It was as if the town had been frozen in time, a ghost of its former self.
As he made his way through the deserted streets, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched by unseen eyes. He heard the sound of swords clashing, and his heart skipped a beat. He knew that he had to investigate.
He approached a giant building that looked like a hospital at the peak of this ghost town. As he got closer, the sound of swords clashing grew louder. Zhongli stopped in his tracks, and his heart began to race. He knew that he had to be careful, there could be other survivors in the town, and they could be hostile.
He placed Lin Lai down, who looked at him with fear in her eyes. "Are you abandoning me?" she asked, barely able to speak. Zhongli shook his head, "No, people are fighting ahead. I need to go."
Lin Lai outstretched her trembling hand, "Use this," she said, as Zhongli took the object from her hand. It was a jade slip, intricately carved. Zhongli knew that these slips were a type of tool that allowed the user to store and retrieve information. He focused his qi, channeling it into the jade slip. A moment later, a series of information began to be injected directly into his mind.
The Ashura Body Technique. A martial art technique that utilized shape manipulation of Spiritual Qi to create armor around one's body that acts as an offense and defense. Zhongli released a breath of cold air as he reviewed the information provided directly into his mind. It was a martial arts technique that was unlike anything he had ever learned. Out of everything he had in his arsenal of tricks, this single martial art technique was much stronger than anything he had and if he went into the nitty gritty of it, this martial art seemed perfect for someone like him as it utilized large amounts of spiritual Qi to attack.
He glanced at the sick Lin Lai. Why did she give me such a strong martial art? Zhongli wondered before shaking his head. He shouldn't look the gift horse in the mouth even if this entire day felt off for him. Maybe it was the lack of obstacles in this race or maybe it was just his paranoia but everything about this supposed race felt off.
With a deep breath, Zhongli activated the Ashura Body Technique, feeling the spiritual qi armor envelop his body. He sprinted towards the fighting, the sound of his footsteps echoing through the deserted town. As he got closer, he could hear the sound of clashing swords and shouting. He knew that he had to be ready for anything.
As he entered the hospital, he was greeted with a scene of chaos. Swords clashed, and people shouted. Zhongli's heart raced as he prepared to fight for his survival in this eerie ghost town.
