章 11: Celebration - 1
"Thank you, thank you. You guys now may sit down." Jahir told everyone to sit while being embarrassed. Then he picked up a couple of papers and announced. "Now I will tell you about the department you would work in, and I will also announce the room number. So listen carefully. And remember the people of the same department leave together."
Then slowly he first announced the names of which the one would be designated to.
A few moments later, he announced."...Alex Yuki.."
Alex stood up, still wiping away some tears that were on the corners of his eyes.
"..Monia Salamander.." As the name was announced, the girl beside Alex stood up.
Alex glanced at her. 'So her name is Monia."
"Now, you guys are placed in the production department," Jahir said to the ones that were standing. "You guys are on the sixth floor, room number 603. I hope you best of the luck."
Afterward, everyone left the room and took the stairs to head toward the sixth floor. Along the way, Alex tried to get familiar with his colleagues. The first one he went to introduce himself to was the girl he had the most 'interaction' with, which was Monia.
Walking side by side with her, Alex put his hand forward. "Hello, we seemed to have many times but we didn't get to know each other. My name is Alex Yuki."
Monia, with a smile on her face, shook hands with Alex. She then showed her ID card and pointed at her name; - Monia Salamander -.
After that, she quietly climbed up the stairs, leaving Alex in an awkward position.
Alex guessed in his mind why she didn't talk to him. 'Hmm, maybe she thinks I am some sort of simp. Hmm, the more I think, the more possible it seems.'
In deep thought, he arrived in front of his room and went in without even looking at his surroundings.
Thud
"Huh?" His shoulder clashed with someone, and it brought him back to his senses. He looked at who it was and saw it was a teenager with spiky hair. Despite wearing a business suit, his cockiness could not be hidden.
"Oi, who might you be?" The boy said while looking down at Alex.
However, Alex didn't get intimidated by that. Instead, he calmly explained everything. "I am Alex Yuki, and I will be working here from today."
"Hurgghh," The boy raised his eyebrows and glared at Alex.
Still, Alex didn't react to his clear provocation.
The boy was about to spout something but got interrupted by someone.
"Jack, don't pick a fight with our new colleagues." It came from behind the boy.
Alex glanced to see who it was, and he saw it was a middle-aged, average man who had drowsy eyes.
"Jim-san, but this new guy is not listening to his seniors." Jack pointed his finger at Alex.
"You are a newbie yourself." Jim abruptly silenced Jack before turning to face Alex."You are Alex, right? I am Jim."
"Yes, nice to meet you, Jim..san." Alex shook his hands with Jim.
"But Alex.." Jim pointed his finger at the door outside, where all the new people were standing, waiting for their entry. "You have to abide by something your seniors say sometimes."
Alex also saw he had made a mistake, and in embarrassment, he rubbed his head. "I am so sorry, Jim-san."
"Don't mind it. You have to make mistakes when you are young if not you won't learn." Jim gave some of his advice.
Alex nodded his head, agreeing with him.
"Now go wait outside with them; we will invite you all shortly after." Jim pushed away Alex to outside.
Alex, coming in front of everyone, didn't shy away. Instead, he held his head up high and waited just beside the glass door. Seeing this, everyone just rolled their eyes back.
A couple of seconds later, Alex, who was waiting with his arms crossed over his chest, heard someone call him from beside him.
Alex turned to the side, only to see a fat man wearing spectacles and motioned for him to bring his ears closer.He listened to him and brought his ears closer.
The fat man whispered in his ears. "Can you sell me the drugs you took? It looks quite effective for to be still able to make you like this."
Alex instantly had black lines on his face again. He didn't count how many times he had these, but he felt there were more to come.
Alex still answered him back. "I got it from this room." He pointed his finger at room 603, the room he just went to. "In there, they have some hefty stuff. I almost ascended to heaven when I took those."
The fat guy leaned back hearing those and showed him disgust."You are weird."
"Do not tell that to me, you small penguin." Alex also showed disgust at him.
"You- " The fat man pointed his finger at Alex.
Clap
Suddenly a clap sounded, and Alex and the fat man looked in the direction of the clap to see it was from Monia.
She put her finger on her lips saying to both of them to be quiet.
They obeyed her like nice puppies and stood silently.
Minutes went by, as did many people's patience.
But luckily, Jack came out at that time. "Come, you little babies."
Despite his cockiness making people's nerves go off, nobody here complained about it. They quickly walked in the door and saw that the whole room was dark.
"What is going on?"
"Has the electricity gone out?"
"No, I think we are caught in a trap."
"Yes...yess..you are right. I heard the people from that alligator race like to eat humans very much!"
"Are we going to die!?"
Phuft! Phuft! Phuft!
Suddenly, multiple cans of confetti burst open one after another, and the lights also came out.
"Welcome to Sunshine CO. everyone!"
"Welcome!"
A wave of congratulations came forward at them from the production department.
The new guys were immediately overwhelmed by this arrangement.
