chapter 28: Transfer Processing

"Good morning sir, Eric says as he enters my office. How has the day been treating you".

"Well, well, well, seems like our coach has learn to be diplomatic with his talks the old you would have come into my office and start asking for whatever it is that brought you here". I replied to him

"Well I had no choice but to be, the press in this country are relentless. They are after what we say like a shark goes after blood".

He explained

"Well, they are not so different, I think. Since both parties are going after their preys to ensure they can get their daily bread. Well what got our lovely diplomatic coach here this morning, I'm pretty sure you're not here to chat with me?" I asked of him.

"Well youre not too wrong, I want to know the team I would be working with from now till the season comes to an end. Most especially the positions we discussed about". He explained to me.

"Well, things are at a standstill, I just got to know the reason why most team don't buy players in January most especially big teams, and big players seems to have no interest in moving in the winter transfer window. I told him the state of things in our buyings with Harry Kane already impossible in the January transfer window, De jong being a Barca die hard and other players not really planning on moving now, when we try to convince their team to sell, that maybe if the players doesn't seem wanted by their club it would make it easier to convince them, but I'm not being an alarmist but those clubs seems to think of us as the same as the London cowboys opening lion mouth here and there, it would be no problem if they are high on our shortlist.

"Unfortunately they are just stop gap measure to fill in the team before we go for those we want". I exhaled tiredly.

"Well I was expecting something like that, but I think if we go for younger players in smaller teams, those ones are always looking for bigger challenges and are usually willing to take risks". He made his opinion known to me.

"Well the head of the scouting department told me the same thing and we are looking at the younger players more, for the midfielders, after allowing for the departure of zidane on loan and selling Fred to fernanbarche, we decided that we need two midfielders, at the top of the scouting lists we have after taking into consideration their willingness to move during the winter window or even move at all;

"For the strikers, our options are really limited and I do believe signing Felix on loan and adding an option to buy based on his performance is our best option for now or maybe one of this young players

Or Serhou Guirassy but he's a bit old and while he boasts of a very good physique he's more a of an opportunitist in the box, you know what, better still I will send the videos of their performance along side the analysis from the scouting and analyst department for you to make your decisions".

"For the midfielder, we would start going after them according to the list you were given but if if you have any problem with signing any of them, you can tell us now before we launch offense on them". I explained to him.

"Well I have no problem, those midfielders are all great talents in the game who I've seen play once or twice at least so you're good to go on them for the midfielder, I would like for Benjamin Sesko and Rasmus Hojlund, according to my contacts they are very exciting talents as well". He said.

"Well I would tell the scouting department to work on them as well, if that's all let me call our new head of transfer negotiations to start working on them, while money isn't a problem, us throwing it at them would only affect us in the long run so it's gonna take us some time before those transactions can become successful". I told him.

"Well it's no problem just make it possible before January". He requested of me.

"Well, let's see what we can do, we would try to be as fast as possible. As for the sporting director and Technical director, I'm happy to inform you that we've decided on Paul Mitchell and Paulo Maldini respectively and we have been able to convince them, they would be resuming to their post on the first Monday in December". I informed him.

"Well, that's no problem, I already was expecting them to be appointed after the debriefing the other day and I believe me and Paulo would be able to work well together with providing us with his unique experience about the art of defense and help our defending, that's not my string point per se". He told me.

"Well that's what we thought when we did our searching". Go do your work And get back to me on the striker issue in three days.
