章 17: Chapter 17 Deamon Targaryen

She had made the decision to implement a system of incentives and penalties in order to inspire individuals to comply with the laws and report any criminal activities. Those who reported a crime that resulted in the arrest of a wrongdoer would receive a portion of the criminal's wealth as a reward, while those found guilty of a crime could have a portion of their wealth seized and awarded to the person who reported them. She had already informed her father about her intentions, and he had expressed his complete endorsement.

Leaving all that behind today was the long-awaited day that the entire Kingdom was waiting for, with the sun casting its radiant glow upon the earth and the melodious chirping of birds filling the air. Valarissa, adorned in her most exquisite attire, gracefully descended the staircase, her flowing silver hair trailing behind her. As she made her way through the corridor, servants and guards respectfully lined up, bowing their heads in deference. Her destination was the grand throne hall, where the highly anticipated ceremony was soon to commence. The atmosphere was brimming with a sense of eager anticipation and exhilaration.

Various lords and nobles had already arrived at the king's land, with the first to reach King's Landing being the nobles from the king's land itself. They were the closest to the king and some of them were relatives or friends of the members of the small council, serving King Viserys I both inside and outside the Red Keep.

Following them were the princes of the River Bend, who were in close proximity to the king's territory. The people from the valley land arrived a little later due to the challenges of descending the mountains, and they entered the city in the same order as the nobles from the Stormland.

Subsequently, individuals from the western region, including the Lannisters and their vassals, arrived. They spent a significant amount of money, resulting in the merchants in King's Landing making a fortune.

The lord and vassals of Iron island followed while most individuals hold a deep disdain for the Iron Islands. Their adherence to the ancient customs of pillaging, murdering, and burning in honor of their deity, the Drowned God, is in stark contrast to the faith of the Seven Gods followed by the church.

The most recent arrival was the northern border, led by Duke Stark, who commanded a sizable contingent of troops as they made their way into King's Landing...

Before long, the throne hall becomes packed with lord's, Dragon bones, symbolizing the Targaryen dynasty's grandeur, adorn the walls alongside lifelike portraits of past rulers. In the corners, artists and scholars diligently create and document the scene.

King Viserys I spoke with authority from the center of the hall, his gaze unwavering, occasionally softened when he caught sight of his daughter's presence.

He formally declared Rhaenyla as a crown princess and the rightful heir to Dragonstone, and commanded the loyalty of the princes.

Rhaenyla stood amidst the crowd, adorned in a black and red velvet gown, embellished with a delicate corsage made of golden Myrme lace, adorned with pearls and gemstones, radiating brilliance. Her long hair, with silver strands, was intricately braided by the maids and elegantly placed upon her head.

All the nobles, both high-ranking and low-ranking, humbly kneeled down, while the prominent nobles held their swords horizontally in their hands, pledging their unwavering loyalty.

Personally, Viserys I carefully positioned the crown symbolizing the successor on Rhaenyra's head. Rhaenyra, in turn, paid her respects to her father and turned towards the people who were genuflecting before her from all directions.

Valarissa Targaryen, standing beside her, observed the ceremony unfolding, as various lords stepped forward to express their allegiance and vows to her sister, Rhaenyra Targaryen.

To her surprise, Valarissa noticed a figure amidst the crowd. It was none other than her uncle, Daemon Targaryen, who was discreetly observing everything from behind the gathering.

Valarissa observed her uncle discreetly leaving, but a sudden realization struck her. If her recollections were accurate, he must be heading towards Dragonstone. Coincidentally, Valarissa had intentions to visit Dragonstone as well, as she still had yet to acquire a dragon. It wasn't due to any restrictions, but rather because her previous self had an overwhelming fear of dragons.

Without hesitation, she noticed her uncle's movements as he attempted to slip away, prompting her to swiftly trail behind and catch up with him. "And why are you following me?" he inquired, pausing in his tracks.

"I want you to accompany me to Dragonstone," Valarissa stated matter-of-factly.

"And is this how you make a request to someone?" Deamon asked.

"I request your assistance in escorting me to dragonstone," Valarissa stated this time more politely.

She was determined not to be dismissed by her uncle so easily. Her heart was set on acquiring a dragon, and she was resolute in her pursuit. The surprise evident on his face only fueled her determination. "Please, Uncle, I am aware that you leaving for dragonstone. You have the ability to accompany me."

"And why should I accompany you? And why is it necessary to visit dragonstone at this moment?" he inquired, a smirk playing on his lips.

"To claim a dragon, of course!" Valarissa answered.

"As for why you should take me along, well, firstly, I am your favorite little nephew, and secondly, I am certain it would bring you satisfaction to see father annoyed and angry," Valarissa replied with a mischievous smile.

"Tame a dragon you don't necessarily need to go to dragonstone as it dangerous, you can go to the pit thier should a baby dragon for you" Deamon stated.

"No uncle, I know the dragon I want and I have decided to go to dragonstone my decission will not change with or without your help" Valarissa said determined.

Deamon glanced at Valarissa for second before emitted a slight chuckle. "Very well, then. However, you must comprehend the dangers involved." Her uncle examined her face for an extended moment before releasing a heavy sigh. "Remember, Dragons are not to be underestimated, and the voyage to Dragonstone is perilous. I will not be your caretaker."

The dynamic between her and Deamon differed from the one he shared with Rhaenyra, as Deamon treated her more like a naive younger sister. This was primarily due to her previous childish demeanor.

"I am aware of the risks, Uncle," Valarissa asserted.
