Renee had been fidgeting ever since she requested to have a presence with the emperor. It took a while however, she was granted.

It was against the rules for a consort to meet the emperor during the period of their training, but she had no choice. Time was running out.

She took another deep breath and finally gestures to the guards by the door that she was ready to walk in.

Efthalia was calmly sipping his tea whereas Renee who was sitting on the other side of the couch refused to raise her head. She was nervous. Not because she was in front of him but because there was something more important for her to do.

"Should I get something else?"

Efthalia spoke breaking the uneasy air around them.

"P-pardon?"

"You haven't touched your tea yet," Efthalia repeated placing his tea back on the table. "Is nothing to your liking?"

"O-oh!! No...no...N-no...not at all." Renee finally made eye contact with him. "There is nothing I dislike here."
