Bryson caught onto the tactic and shoved the table aside, making himself a clear path to apprehend Rose before she could run. He was on top of her in less than a second, his hulking arms wrapped tightly around her body, preventing her from moving. 

Rose struggled against his iron grip and screamed. Bryson pulled her up and held her firmly in front of him as he gave her a stern warning. "Don't try anything like that again," he said through gritted teeth. Rose continued to resist, her eyes widening in fright.

Christopher and Kane's expressions changed as they were about to begin their conversation. They jerked their heads toward the hall door as the once-silent house erupted into a hail of chaotic screams and shouts. Then there was a crashing noise. Both men were stunned by what they were listening to and paused briefly, staring at each other with puzzled expressions.
