章 49: Chapter 49: Of Carnage and Triumph

I arose with fury and an unholy craving for vengeance. They were going to earn no mercy, see no quarter and would bear witness to the tempest they had unleashed in me.

“It ends now,” I ordered.

We rallied and charged the enemies still on land. They thought they had time to return to their ships or reorganize their battlelines but we pushed through them in a matter of minutes.

I leapt onto a rowboat and slashed both rowers before hopping onto another longboat riddled with arrows and even a large bolt from our Arvenswal ballista. Ten men worked on turning the boat around but several of us hacked them down with ease. The last man threw a spear at me but I slashed it away while it was midair. He tripped trying to back away and I plunged my fangs into his neck to rejuvenate my vigor.

I lifted my head and the blood dripped down my chin and neck. Dozens of vampires leapt between the boats on the crowded river, making short work of their crews.
