章 5: Chapter 5

/This will not be dropped until i finish it, i'm just very busy with school... and extremely lazy./

.....

"You there! Who are you?!" a Piltovian dressed in a uniform of blue and gold demanded as I approached the entrance of the massive city.

"I'm from Noxus." I answer him. I hand him a sheet of paper that Swain gave me so I could enter the city.

He read through before asking me, "Remove your helmet and then reveal your purpose here."

"I have no business with Piltover, I am only interested in the Undercity." And while that was partly the truth for the job Swain sent me here for, I personally had many ideas.

"The Underity? The only business going on there is illegal business." He spoke.

"Good." I say as I give him some gold coins, "Point me in the right direction, would you?"

He stared at the gold before pocketing it and smiling at me, "It's on the other side of the city. Once it starts to smell you'll know you're close." He then moved aside, "Enjoy your stay in Piltover."

I chuckle as I walk past him, this whole place is corrupt. Though I could immediately tell that this was a city where the rich thrive, and the poor suffer. But still, Piltover is quite beautiful. What caught my eye was a massive tower, which had an enormous amount of magical power.

While the city around the Immortal Bastion radiated strength, Piltover shines with advancement. The place is an extremely popular trade hub due to connecting the two seas. this has resulted in Piltover becoming much richer compared to other cities.

Of course, this meant it's Undercity is probably the best place to find illegal things. I kept walking until I passed over a bridge. After that it started to smell heavily, and the streets became less maintained and populated. I searched for someone until I found a kid. "Hey. How do I get to the Undercity?"

The kid seemed a little scared by my appearance but answered by pointing down a nearby alley, "There's a lift that goes to it there."

"Thanks." I say tossing him a coin that he excitedly grabs.

I walk down the alleyway, passing by people obviously looking for an easy steal, though they hesitated when they saw my armor. The kid told the truth as it led to an abandoned building that had a lift hidden in it. I entered it and pulled a lever. The lift shook a bit before coming alive and lowering.

True enough Piltover and it's Undercity can be regarded as completely separate City-States. While Piltover is bright and vibrant the Undercity is dark and trapped. A dark green covered the place like a shadow. And now that I was here, I needed to find Silco. Swain had good informants, so he knows Silco is the main boss behind not only Shimmer but the Undercity itself.

Swain had also told me before leaving Noxus, that Silco was in a bar called 'The Last Drop', so I made my way over there, luckily, it was very bright, covered in lights. That was because of a bar it was some party place. There were even two big guards next to the door.

I walked inside as the guards eyed me and I was blasted by loud music. True enough this Shimmer stuff was all over the place, as I could smell it constantly. Even from just a sniff I could feel that it possessed and unnatural strength. I walked up to the bartender and asked him, "Is Silco here? I would like to talk to him about some business."

The bartender looked at me for a bit before gesturing for the stairs at the end of the bar. I nodded at him before walking up the stairs. "Who are you?" I heard a voice behind me.

I turned to see a dark-skinned woman with a mechanical left arm. "Dire, I am part of the Noxian army, here to speak with Silco. Who are you?"

She glared at me, "Why? Silco is just the owner of this club."

"Your terrible at lying. I know Silco is the one that flooded the Undercity with Shimmer." I chuckled.

She gritted her teeth before walking past me, "Follow me." She led me to a door and said, "Wait here." Before entering the room, herself. After some time, the doors opened, and she gestured for me to enter. I did and saw the mastermind of the Undercity himself. He appeared quite skinny and pale, his left eye seemed deformed with black sclera and orange iris.

"So? What does Noxus want with me?" Silco asked, gesturing for me to sit in the in front of him. "You look quite out of place, don't you? All armored head to toe, surely it gets hard to breathe in that." He taunts.

"No, it's because I don't trust anyone in this dump." I say, retracting my helmet.

"You're just a kid?!" Silco exclaimed in surprise.

"If you knew what I was and what I could do. 'kid' would be the last word to describe me." I reply. "But enough of that, I'm here for business." I continue passing him the letter Swain gave me. As Silco opened it and started to read it:

[Word of your product, Shimmer has spread to Noxus and it's enticing. Many leaders of the warband and armies would pay a lot of money to provide their soldiers with this drug.]

Silco finished reading before sighing, "There is no point. We've been unable to ship out Shimmer due to the Enforcers." Upon seeing my confused face he elaborated, "The forces that maintain order in Piltover."

I nodded, "If you can produce mass amounts, Noxus can handle transporting it all out of Piltover. Piltover knows it can't fight against Noxus, so even if they find out we're transporting Shimmer, they couldn't do anything but watch in fear of Noxus."

"How do I know you won't use my own drug to recreate your own? Or even better, invade Piltover. I know Noxus is full of warmongering barbarians."

"The Grand General of Noxus is far more interested in the island of Ionia at the moment. And Noxus does not have the natural resources to produce the drug. Part of this deal is to increase Noxus's opinion of Piltover or at least the Undercity. If the undercity can provide a sufficient amount of Shimmer, I'm sure Noxus would look into further business with you. How could you lose when you have a favor from the strongest military in the world?"

Silco was silent in thought, of course the offer is tempting, especially for an underground crime lord. I doubt he cares about the Ionian's, so selling Shimmer for the invasion isn't a problem for him. So, I wondered why he was thinking so much.

"For this to work. I want it to not be a simple deal between seller and buyer." He said after some time.

"What do you have in mind?" I asked.

"Partnership." He said, surprising me.

"Partnership? You want partnership with an entire nation as a Crime Lord in the Undercity of Piltover?"

Silco sighed and leaned back in his chair making it turn to the side, "No, I want Noxus to have a partnership with Zaun."

Suddenly it clicked in my head, "You seek to sperate Zaun from Piltover, don't you?"

He nodded, "The Topside and the Undercity will never accept each other. It's a desire for all to be free from the Council leaders of Piltover. If Noxus wants Shimmer, it will help that become a reality."

I lightly smiled, Silco is quite a character. I thought he was some simple Crime Lord, but he is much more than that. "We both know Noxus can't directly help you create Zaun. That is completely between you and the Piltovian Leaders. But Noxus can assist you."

"Trade deals and the like?"

"Despite the overpopulation and lack of prosperity, the technology level here is greater than Noxus. Weapons, body enhancements, at the rate of growth shown in the reports I've seen, Zaun easily has the best compatibility out of any nation with Noxus so far."

"Yes, Noxians don't even have firearms yet." Silco smirked.

"I don't even know what those are, but they sound interesting."

Silco rolled his eyes before saying, "It says in this letter that the invasion is in six months, but what is the optimal time period?"

"A ship will arrive in two months from Noxus. I'll be here until then to help the process go smoothly as well as properly organize the shipping for future trades."

"At most we can create enough to fuel a hundred soldiers to fight for three days without stopping. The Enforcers as well as a group of street thugs have been constantly intercepting our supply."

"Tell me where, I can deal with either." I spoke.

"Jinx can." Silco says looking up above him.

Before I could say anything, a girl dropped from above us, onto the desk between Silco and I. with very pale skin and blue hair and eyes she looked around twelwe years old. "Were you always up there?"

She shook her head, "No, or well yes, but I wasn't listening to anything."

I looked at Silco, "You know it's obvious what I'm going to do right? Are you sure you want an actual kid coming with me?"

"She needs the experience. She's a good shot." He said.

"Fine then." I groan before looking at Jinx, "Lead the way then."

She giggled before excitedly hopping off the desk and walking off. I was about to leave after her as Silco said, "Dire, can I trust you enough to keep her alive?"

I chuckled as a shadow appeared next to him, holding a sword next to his neck, "I believe so."

I then left with Jinx…
