Angel takes the bottle back and takes a swing too. "Do you?"

"No," I answer miserably, taking the drink back from him.

"I wish I could, but I don't. I just love him so much, but he doesn't love me back."

I drink again and pass the bottle to Angel.

He is quiet for some time, then slants me a look. "Why wouldn't he love you? You seem very loveable to me."

I shrug. "It seems everybody loves me but my mate."

"Is he slow?" Angel demands.

"No, he's very intelligent," I answer glumly.

"Blind? he must be blind then."

I giggle. "Makai's not blind."

"What about crazy? That must be it!" He exclaims triumphantly, then takes a swing.

I giggle again and take the bottle from him, taking another swing.

"He's probably too sane actually."

Angel holds up his hands in defeat. "I'm out of possible reasons. Are you sure he doesn't love you though?"

He holds his hand out for the bottle, which I obediently pass to him.
