-3rd PoV-
The two of them got out of their respective titan forms somehow, behind them was their titan flesh vanishing at a visible speed.
Hito decided to go first. "So, you're about to say something right..?"
He was talking about Ymir's screaming in her titan form, thankfully Ymir understood what he meant.
"Oh, t-that...I think it was..me saying 'I'm here?' s-sorry I'm not sure since my memories are a bit unclear when I was in that form." Ymir replied, embarrassed.
Hito nodded, it was understandable as he could barely remember what happened when he transformed into his titan form for the first time.
Or maybe it was his second time transforming, but it wasn't that relevant so he didn't think about it that much.
"I get it, I also have the same problem so it's understandable."
"O-oh, I thought it was just me but thank god it's not.." Ymir let out a sigh of relief.
"We're really the same." Hito smiled at her, it was now proven that both of them had the same ability to transform.
Honestly, it was a relief to him because with this ability to transform into a titan, she can protect herself from any harm that would befall her, she wasn't some defenseless girl anymore.
If this world is indeed in the medieval period, she's going to be akin to a God.
An unstoppable force of nature, with only swords, spears, and arrows, there's no way they could kill her, except if she's in her human state.
But even then, she's hard to kill because of her regenerative ability; a missing limb or two isn't fatal, because she could regenerate them anyway.
Hearing those exact words again, made Ymir smile, she loves it, to be the same as him.
"Yes!"
The atmosphere around them was peaceful, sadly it didn't last as both of them heard footsteps behind their back.
The rest of the Eldians arrive, this time there's dozens of them, riding horses with weapons in their bodies.
Ymir went stiff, she couldn't move because of the nervousness and trauma that she got from them, even with her powers she still has that mentality where she's going to listen to them without a complaint because deep inside her she's still their little slave.
It wasn't easy to get rid of it.
Hito noticed this, and as he could feel her emotions, it made him feel disgusted, not to Ymir but to the Eldians.
This is the result of their years of abuse, despite that, he needed to calm himself down, and see what these people were going to do, but honestly, he could guess what they were going to do.
But he hope, he was wrong because he was still in conflict about these people, while he hated them for what they've done, it wasn't going to be a reason for him to wipe them out completely and that's why he's giving them a chance, a chance to see if they're redeemable.
True, he killed those Eldians before because of rage, and right now he's trying to think about whether to kill them or not, purely based on their actions.
"You, who are you? Are you one of the Marleyan?" The leader of the group demanded as he pointed his spear at Hito's neck.
'Marleyan? Are they also a native in this world like Eldian?' He thought it seems that Eldians weren't the only natives in this world, but to be fair he should have expected that.
Ymir wasn't an Eldian, to begin with, they were raided by them making them their property.
Hito was about to say something, but he was interrupted by another Eldian. "Wait, this person might be a Noble, captain look at his suit, they look expensive."
Then the captain of the group's eyes widened, as he realized that his subordinate words might be true after all, then all of a sudden the man's eyes were filled with greed as he looked at him.
And he didn't like that look.
"A noble…I've never sold a noble before, this one would definitely fetch a good price.." The captain strokes his beard as he continues to stare at him with a greedy smile.
"That's true, if this person is truly a noble then…we'd be rich!" The subordinate said while having the same look of greed as his captain.
Their conversation made him uncomfortable, as they talked about him being sold as a slave, there's no way he'd allow that.
"What about the girl? She also had expensive attire." One of the subordinates pointed at Ymir who was still stiff as a stone.
"Oh! I recognize this one captain! She's the slave that the chief gave 'freedom' because she let the pigs escape!" One of the Eldian hunters recognized Ymir despite her different attire.
"Indeed she's 'that' slave, I almost didn't recognize her because of her new attire, this person must've been the one that gave her these new clothes...I think it's confirmed that this man is noble, for him to give a slave expensive clothes he must've been rich, men! Search around the forest there should be more of these expensive clothes being hidden somewhere!" The captain guessed.
Too bad for them, they aren't going to find anything because Hito projected those clothes.
"Take the slave, and I'll take the Noble." The captain ordered.
"Yes, captain!" The subordinate nodded, however before he could touch Ymir, he realized that he was missing a limb.
"Eh..?" He stared at his flying arm.
"Touch her, and you die." He heard the suspected noble growling at him.
The pain finally caught up and the Eldian hunter screamed. "AGHHHHHHHHHH!"
And because of that it gained everyone's attention, however, the captain saw everything that happened, he saw the noble create a spear out of nothing and threw it at his men's arm at an inhumane speed.
"Everyone kill this man! He used Sorcery! Kill him!" The captain snapped out of musing and ordered his man to kill Hito because of sorcery.
Hito didn't hesitate to reinforce himself, because there was going to be a battle.
Before anyone could hit him with their arrows, he dashes toward Ymir carrying her like a sack of potatoes, he didn't have the luxury to carry her in a more comfortable position.
She's his only weakness, that's why he needs to get her in a safe place so that he could transform without harming her.
In her current state, there's no way she could transform or even move, after a few seconds of running while using reinforcement magecraft, he got away from the Eldian hunters.
He found a safe hiding place for Ymir to hide, he quickly put her there and seriously said. "Stay here, I'll be right back after I'll take care of them."
Hito didn't wait for her answer and he knew that he's losing time, the Eldians are coming.
After he was about a hundred meters away from Ymir's hiding place, it was finally time for him to transform, this might be overkill but he couldn't care, because even with reinforcement magecraft, there's no telling he'd be safe facing these guys.
Only with his titan form he's confident facing them without getting damaged, it's better to be safe than sorry, you only live once after all.
Right now, all of his conflicted emotions are mostly gone, he doesn't have any problem killing them, no matter how illogical it might be to him.
He knew he was changing, the old him would never have dreamed of killing these people or killing anyone for that matter, but right now it's not important he had someone to protect, and to do that he had to kill them.
"There's the Sorcerer! Kill him!"
A lightning bolt hit his spot, then he transformed, a titan was formed, it was noticeably bigger than before, but he didn't notice because his goal was to kill what's in front of him.
"My god..!" The captain of the Eldian hunters looked at the titan above him in shock.
"W-what in the world is that?!"
"D-devil..! It's the devil! He's no Sorcerer? He's the devil itself!" One of the Eldian hunters screamed in fear.
"I-it was a mistake w-we shouldn't have come here w-" Before he could finish his sentence, the devil stomps its feet toward them killing them instantly.
Hito continued to stomp his feet a few more times to confirm his kill, after the deed he was satisfied and he went out of his titan form.
—
Hito stared at the area where the slaughter happened, the terrain completely changed, and he even saw liters of blood in some places, but he didn't look for more than a second.
He killed them, however, he didn't regret what he did, he absolutely felt nothing, he gently touched his chest and said. "I didn't realize it before but now I do...I became more indifferent, I changed…"
It seems that gaining powers wasn't the only change he had, it also applies to his personality.
Hito wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing, hopefully, it's the former.
After his musing, he went toward the place where he hid Ymir.
–
So yeah, powers weren't the only things he gained, but also some changes in his personality, he became more indifferent to killing.
But not completely, the only reason why he felt nothing after killing them is that he thinks that they deserved it.
Anyway, here's the promised chapter sorry it's a bit late! 🤣
