章 290: Chapter 273 - Stray Devil
The biscuits and cookies were beyond delicious as it was made by Ryuu who had the essence of Gourmand that gave him the best skill in culinary, be it baking pastry or cooking dishes that even with the most basic Ingredients can make something delicious. It's a bit unfair to compare himself to a human that has their limits but was aiming to visit that culinary school in the future or even create his own restaurant in Japan. The latter is most probable as he didn't want to join the schools where he would surely win every competition by a landslide. Ryuu smiled at their reaction and said,
"So how was it?" Akeno was the first one to speak and said.
"It's unbelievably delicious~" Rias nodded as she had tasted many pastries and cooking before but Ryuu's is completely different. She knew his cooking would be delicious but was a bit taken aback by the pastry and how good it was.
"Never tasted this delicious before." Akeno and Rias enjoyed the biscuits Ryuu smiled before they enjoyed a small chat getting to know more about each other before a knock on the door could be heard as two people came inside. One was a light blonde-haired young man who emits dignified air and regal elegance. Ryuu observed and somewhat knew that he was a she due to Rias who told him about her tragic past where she took the name of her Twin and lived as him because she felt that it was him that should survive.
A split in the canon timeline and understanding that the world of Rias is an Alternate universe from the prime universe that Ryuu is familiar with. He or She was being followed by a white-haired Petite young girl. She was stoic and lacked any form of emotion that emits a sense that Ryuu is familiar with. She seemed to sense dominating and enticing as if telling her to give herself as the primal instinct was kicking in but she was unable to pinpoint she was feeling that way. This was due to Ryuu's beast lordship that affects any time of the beast and being a nekoshou affects the petite girl. The blonde was the first one to speak and said.
"Oh I didn't know we had a guest?" Ryuu stood up and introduced himself while transforming into his female form surprising her and said.
"Hello there I'm Ryuu Cinco or Kazuno whichever you like and Rias's boyfriend. I also have a new female teacher named Ryuku Kazuno." Kiba's eyes went wide and heard a lot about him giving Rias advice and even receiving one that gave her a change of perspective and goal in life but she still needed to find closure in her life. She smiled and said.
"I'm Yuuto Kiba or Yuumi Kiba since I know Rias mentions it and Buchou also mentions you a lot but why are you changing into a female?" Rias nodded and said.
"Cause I think it's fine to mess with the male student." Yuumi didn't know what to think and just smiled. Meanwhile, Ryuu noticed how Koneko was looking at him curiously as he gave a nice smile then gave her a pat on the head. She felt enticed and drawn by the scent he was emitting as well as how the surrounding reacted to his presence. Everyone in the room was a bit surprised when she let him pat her as Ryuu asked.
"Hi there, care to tell me your name?" Koneko stared at him for a moment and quietly said.
"...Koneko Toujou." Ryuu gave a soft smile and said,
"It's nice to meet you, Koneko-chan. Oh, do you like some sweets?".Her interest was piqued when Ryuu took another bag of biscuits, handing them to Koneko who reluctantly took the sweets looking at him for a brief moment before taking a bite and made a weird noise upon tasting its flavor.
"Hahaha I guess you do. Wait, slow down, no one is going to steal your sweet and I can always bake more."
He chuckled still patting her head much to everyone's surprise seeing Koneko interact with him despite just meeting him. Ryuu was itching to burn the neberius clan to the ground but was patiently waiting until the four Maou decided on the punishment. If it was too light for his taste then the clan would seek salvation through death once he began his punishment. Koneko enjoyed the warmth of his hand while Rias was proud that his whole original peerage except for gasper was falling for him now. She clapped her hands and said.
"Now that everyone is here, we've been called regarding a stray devil." They all nodded as Ryuu rubbed his chin and said.
"Can I join you, guys?" Yuumi was about to deny his request and said.
"Not to su-" Before she could was interrupted by her king and said.
"Don't worry Kiba, He's well capable of a fighter and the reason why I invited Ryuu with us to train us a few days from now."
They have been training that they have neglected their jobs as devils, which is why everyone is compensating by doing it now and would start training a few days from now. Kiba was reluctant but trusted his Master's words as they headed their way to kill the stray devil.
They arrived at an abandoned warehouse where he instantly peered through and found the suffocating miasmic energy around the place. The presence of blood and Depravity was apparent for Ryuu had this divinity and path. Rias peerage headed inside to investigate and kill the stray devil while he remained standing watching how they fought. Ryuu is not the best fighter in the entire megaverse since he is already too powerful and any skill in combat becomes redundant but if we take away those godlike powers then he's at least above them in terms of skills.
"I can see that they're quite capable fighters but holding back. Have you tried talking to them about ``you know what?"
Ryuu whispered to Rias while the others tried to find the stray devil even though he had already found it but decided to remain silent to let them show how capable they are after their training with Grayfia. It was clear that training wasn't enough for them to grow even stronger and held by their fear and anxiety.
"Yes, I've used your words before and it seems to work but I know they are still bound by their tragic past…."
She clicked her tongue in frustration and felt powerless to help them fearing that it would make things worse if she tried being forceful. Ryuu smiled seeing how much she cares for them and hardly perfect having flaws that made it difficult for her to do more for them. He couldn't help but pull her closer and patted her head before kissing her forehead, calming her down. It was clear that she was stressing herself from trying to help the others. Rias was taken aback by his action but enjoyed the warm feeling and felt at ease. Ryuu smiled and asked.
"Do you feel better than now?" Rias nodded and said.
"I do, thank you." Ryuu grinned and said.
"Good. Don't worry, I'll try talking to them since I've decided to train all of you."
They could easily grow stronger by conquering dungeons within his personal world. Though, the first thing they'll need to do is face their problem before advancing. After a while, the group finally found the stray devil which was both speedy and tanky. Ryuu watched them combat their enemies showing the lack of coordination.
The stray devil moved trying to punch Koneko but she easily did the same and canceled the attack before punching once more while Akeno used her lightning trying to fry it while moaning in delight as she sadistically tortured it. Ryuu was the same when it comes to his enemy endlessly torturing them because his power as someone in Depravity.
Those poor souls are currently imprisoned in his realm of slaanesh with the [ Warp Inner world ]. He shed no pity when there were nothing more than monsters and would eventually just turn into screaming and moaning flesh. The fight continued where Kiba moved in blinding speed but his sword slashes lacked power behind them.
'He relies too much with his sacred gear while Akeno and Koneko hardly use their full power. Kiba lacks technique and power, Akeno needs more control in managing her energy while Koneko needs to use her innate power as nekoshou.'
While there others were busily fighting, unaware that there was just one stray devil rather two of them and the other was indivisible, slowly approached Ryuu who seemed vulnerable. It was at that moment, the stray devil felt immenses dread when he turned around revealing his glowing red eyes and was entangled by black tendrils. The others were surprised when they saw Ryuu with black tendrils holding a stray devil. Rias was baffled that something was lurking in the shadow.
"Trying to sneak up on me is rather a foolish idea."
Ryuu said before snapping his fingers causing the blood within the stray to pierce its body inside out. He absorbed the blood to analyze and add it to his library of monsters. Rias peerage was shocked how easily he defeated the stray devil while Akeno seemed aroused more than anything. After a while, they cleaned up and headed back to the occult research club.
