章 46: Artoria's past II (Bonus chapter)
After two months after that night, both King Uther and lady Igraine were surprised when they found out she was pregnant.
The anticipation and excitement were just too big for the Pendragons to keep a secret. A party was held where everyone from the village gathered to celebrate the new upcoming heir.
The king was joyous and so was the queen, but only one person was feeling overwhelmed about the whole thing, and that was Uthur's illegitimate child Morgana.
She knew she wouldn't be the heir to the throne anymore if the king bore an heir and she was furious.
But something shocking happened when it was finally time for Igraine to give birth, something that would mess with Uther's plan for an heir.

Uther was sitting in his throne room, awaiting the news about his new heir. A doctor wearing a brown robe walked into the palace with a tray of medicine in her hands.
"Well, where's my son?" Uther asked, before getting down from the chair and walking over to the doctor.
The doctor was feeling hesitant to speak but she somehow mastered up the courage to talk, "The labor went well" She reported.
"Okay? Uh-hmm?" Uther nodded.
"Same as your child-"
"Yes!"
Uther shouted, smiling as he paced around the castle with a smile on his face, his wish had finally come true.
"So where is he? Where is my son?" Uther asked.
"Well Sire, here's the thing, it wasn't a boy". The doctor uttered, fear was written on her face as she gripped the side of the table.
"What do you mean by that?" Uther asked.
"I'm saying your child isn't a boy, it's a girl," The doctor said.
Uther immediately slammed his fist on the same table the doctor had her hands on, she moved back until her back hit the wall.
She immediately fell to her knee and bowed her head, "I'm sorry Sire, it was her request before she died that I convince you to keep the child regardless of the gender".
Uther yelled in anger, using his legs to kick the doctor to the side, the sudden noise caused the guard to swarm the place.
"My lord are you alright?" One of the knights asked.
Uther just walked past them before uttering, "Dispose of her".
The doctor begged as she struggled to get away from the knights, she suddenly received a stab to the by from the guards.
"Uther Pendragon!"
She yelled with blood dripping from the side of her stomach and tears falling from her eyes which soon turned to resentment.
"If I'm to die, then I'll die leaving you a curse you bastard! I curse you Uther!"
One of the knights suddenly silenced her by chopping her head off with his sword.
Uther was still outside the palace and those words the doctor said were still resonating in his ear.
Ten years passed since then and the kingdom had faced many barbaric threats and was barely holding on anymore.
Marlin who arrived in the kingdom nine years earlier was assigned the task of being the new female heir Astoria Pendragon's keeper.
"The identity of the young lord must be kept at all cost"
Those were the words Merlin advised Uther.
King Uther couldn't accept the fact that his firstborn was a female, he had already disregarded her since she was born.
But with the request of the last queen, Uther couldn't find it in his heart to abandon her, hence why Merlin was involved.
Merlin then took Astoria over to Ector, a renowned knight of the round table and father to Kay and Kili.
Merlin begged Ector to raise Astoria, and without hesitating, he accepted and brought in Astoria.
She grew up in a neighborhood where she had to work like a commoner and eat like one. She didn't have a care in the world.
She was trained in swordsmanship by Ector at a very young age and even would still rival her foster brothers in combat.
One day while Astoria was walking around with her brother Kay, while they were walking they noticed a big event happening in front of the royal castle.
"What do you think is going on there?" Kay asked, he had his small sword with him which he never leaves behind.
"I don't know, we should"
"Come let's check it out!" Kay held Astoria's hand and they ran into the event, the place was filled with different knights and civilians.
Astoria pulled her hand away from Kay's grasp, "Look around you brother, they're no women here, you should go without me I'll go home".
"Nonsense!" Kay laughed, "Okay wait here," he said. He ran into the event and immediately ran back with a short cloak in his hands.
"With this, hiding your face should be no problem,"
Kay smiled, Astoria wore the cloak and then entered the event, upon getting close they saw a bunch of Knights trying to pull a sword from a stone.
Kay and Astoria were both confused about this, Kay without thinking jerked a man's clothes and asked.
"Why are they trying to pull the sword out?"
And the man he asked replied, "King Uther made the announcement this morning, whoever pulls the sword out of the stone is going to be the next king, the rumors were right, he is getting tired of ruling" The man laughed through the noisy surroundings.
"Wow! Astoria did you hear?" Kay asked but Astoria wasn't listening to him.
Her eyes were fixated on the sword almost like it was calling her, she didn't know when she moved from her spot and was headed for the sword.
Everyone was surprised as to who the person in the dark robe was,
Astoria was about to pull it when Merlin, who had been standing in front of the sword since the beginning, whispered to her.
"Are you sure this is a decision you want to make, if you pull the sword Caliburn out you will no longer go back to being human" Merlin uttered.
Astoria shook her head, without wasting any time, she reached out for the sword and pulled it out with ease.
A bright light shone from the rock and sword lit in the sky as the heaven shines its light on Astoria.
Sir Ector was also surprised, he walked toward Astoria with a proud smile on his face.
He drew out his sword and rested it on her soldier before yelling…
"Your new king!"
