章 189: Paternal Instinct

It had been months since Varya was able to step foot into the lab she once occupied every single day. 

As she wandered down the brightly lit corridor and into the elevators that would bring her up to the labs and Dr. Brie's office, her eyes never rested on one spot for long. The pleased expression on her face was full of wonder. 

Before she was the empress, she was able to walk by herself but Galen had to come with her. Despite her efforts to blend in with dark green spandex underneath a white lab coat, the personal guard was a huge giveaway that she wasn't just another scientist. 

She had an early morning meeting with Dr. Brie and she rode the elevator all the way to the top and to his office. She wanted to cut to the chase early. The last time she had a one-on-one meeting with him, she was expressing her interest to defeat Emperor Kruos. 

Ever since then, she hadn't had much time for the labs and it made her unbelievably sad.
