DAWN TAKES WETUBE BY STORM WITH THEIR SOLO PERFORMANCES
written by buzybee
The rising WeTube creators— DAWN, uploaded 4 videos yesterday. The videos contain solo performances featuring each one of them.
Kang Jiwoo, the main dancer of the group, danced to their self-produced song 'Believer'. Netizens are praising both the song and the dance choreography. Despite being young, Kang Jiwoo showed his sharp dance line and good balance. It is said that Kang Jiwoo is currently the most famous among the four of them, internationally. He is specifically adored by English fans.
Kang Wooin, their leader, showed off his vocal skills as he sang their another self-produced song 'Shinunoga E-wa'. Despite it being a japanese song, korean netizens are praising its addictive melody. 'Shinunoga E-wa' is now on top of the Japan Music Charts. Kang Wooin is now famous in Japan and he's got a lot of fans, mostly female.
Choi Gangseok, the main rapper, captured the hearts of many teenage girls with his rap-vocal song 'My Type'. A lot of them fantasized being Gangseok's type of girl. Many of them admitted that they didn't like rap-vocal until they heard and watched Gangseok's performance.
Yoo Jisuk, the main vocalist, solidified his position as his vocal skills really stood out in his performance. According to the survey done in Seoul, results show that he is the most known among the members of DAWN. Even elderly people knew of Jisuk's song 'Life Goes On'. The song is undeniably recognized by people regardless of age and gender.
We can't deny that DAWN is now stepping on entertainment industry. Their popularity is comparable to that of already debuted groups. It is thanks to DAWN's skill and talents paired with their brilliant ideas.
We can see how creative they are as no other group even thought of showing their charms through solo performances.
But we don't know, maybe other groups will be inspired and upload videos of them performing solo too.
DAWN uploaded just yesterday but fans are already urging them to produce more songs.
We can conclude that DAWN's leader, Wooin, did a great job producing songs that will highlight his members' skills and strengths.

Wooin, Jiwoo, Gangseok, and Jisuk felt proud and happy after reading the article. Specially since it was written by a well-established entertainment and feature journalist— buzybee.
Their official WeTube channel has now over 3 million subscribers. The views on their uploaded videos already has 5 million and it still keeps on rising as days pass by.
Wooin is relieved as they now have a solid foundation. All that's left is for the four of them to debut successfully.
"Hyung, it's just as you said. We received a lot of invitations, recruiting us to join their company." Jisuk said as he scrolled through the mails they received.
A particular mail caught Wooin's eyes. Wooin asked for the mouse and he opened the mail.

K-NET
Good day! K-NET is currently looking for independent trainees that wants to join our new program 'PRODUCE 105'. We would like to invite DAWN to participate in our new survival show.
Please contact us if you are interested. Thank you.
**
"What do you guys think about joining?" Wooin asked the three.
"Uhm hyung.. it's our first time hearing something like that. Besides, what's a survival show? Is it like horror? Are we gonna die there?!" Jiwoo joked.
Wooin realized that survival shows are not yet invented here or it's just about to be introduced. In his past life, survival shows became popular. And a lot of k-idols became popular after winning in survival shows.
"No. It does not mean like we have to survive from death or something. Listen..." Wooin started. "It is a show where they will gather trainees from different companies. Some will come from big companies like JYB, MS, YG, and HYDE. They also conduct auditions to give chance for independent trainees. Independent trainees refer to trainees that are not under any entertainment company, like us for example. Survival means that there will be eliminations. There will be judges or mentors that will assess our skills in dancing, singing, rapping, and even leadership. To test our skills and talents, they will give us missions like performing a famous song. The mentors or judges will grade us based on our skills. There will be eliminations periodically that will be based on either the judges' decision, audience votes, or both. So in order to survive, we need to show them our skills and we need to charm the audience so that they will vote us."
"Then hyung, what will happen to the ones who survive?" Jisuk asked.
"The producers will set a definite number. The ones who will survive throughout the challenges will debut. For example, the producers will choose to debut an 11-member group. There will be eliminations until only 11 trainees remain and those 11 trainees will debut. They will most likely disband after a year but its a good opportunity as you will get to perform in different stages and gather fans. And even after disbanding, there will be a lot of offers from entertainment companies willing to take you under them."
"But hyung, we already received a lot of offers from entertainment companies. Can't we just accept them?" Jisuk asked.
"True. We received a lot of good offers. I am not after debuting. Rather, what I am after is for us to be in the show and showcase our personalities and charms. The whole process will be filmed. Of course not all scenes will be broadcasted but still, it will give us good publicity. Plus, it will be a great experience for us." Wooin explained.
In his past life, this PRODUCE 105 became really successful. Not just in Korea, but in other countries as well. The group that debuted through this show became successful, with huge fanbase across the world. And yes, they did not disband after a year. Their contract was extended as per the fans' demand.
"Let's just join. We will have nothing to lose anyway." Gangseok said.
"We trust you, hyung." Jiwoo gave him a thumbs up.
After receiving the go signal, Wooin contacted Ju Iseul— their personal lawyer that his mother introduced.
Wooin asked Ju Iseul to talk to their school and tell the school that they will not be around because they will participate in the show.
The school was understanding and said that they will only need to come at school to take exams and they will excuse them but they have to pass their subjects. They cannot afford to have a fail in their report card.
Wooin then sent a reply to K-NET, expressing their desire to participate in the survival show. K-NET set a date to meet up in order to talk about the contract.
The next day, they successfully signed a contract.
The representative that met them informed them that they have to prepare a song for their grade evaluation performance.
The four are now in the Kangs' mansion. They are currently in Wooin's recording studio.
"Do you have any idea what a grade evaluation is?" Gangseok asked Wooin.
"We will perform like we are auditioning. The judges will grade us individually and will separate us into classes. Those who received higher grades will probably receive the best treatment and best mentors. Those who will receive lower grades will be placed in lower class and they will have less screen time. So we really need to do our best and receive the highest grade possible. We should also aim to be placed in the same class." Wooin explained.
It has already been 30 minutes but they still can't find a suitable song.
"Let's just do a remix." Gangseok broke the silence.
It was a brilliant idea. Wooin praised Gangseok in his mind. 'This b*stard rarely speaks but once he do, it always amaze me.'
"Jisuk, pick a song that will highlight your vocals." Wooin accommodated Jisuk first as it will be a pity if Jisuk won't be able to show his full potential. Actually, even Wooin is jealous of Jisuk's vocals.
"Then hyung, I want us to perform 'Let Go'." Jisuk said.
Wooin noticed that Jisuk picked the song that has some rap part in it. 'This kid is just too selfless. I told him to pick a song that will highlight his voice and there he is, choosing a song that all four of us can perform.' Wooin vowed to really protect Jisuk so that people will not take advantage of his kindness.
"This song needs at least 2 rappers and at least 2 vocals. Jisuk will sing the part that has high notes, and Jiwoo, you support him with the minor parts so that he can take breaks in between. Gangseok and I will get the rap parts. Although I can rap, it does not compare with Gangseok's so I'll leave the main parts to you." Wooin said, looking at Gangseok.
Wooin can rap, however, the deep range and tone of Gangseok's rapping sounds more unique and amazing.
"But hyung, you will not be able to show your vocals if you're going to rap." Jiwoo is worried that his hyung is giving all the good parts to them.
"Can you rap?" Wooin raised his brows.
"Of course I can't." Jiwoo proudly said. He made it sound like it was something amazing. Wooin chuckled.
"Don't worry because the second song that we will remix has vocal parts too." Wooin assured them.
"For the second song, I'm thinking of going with 'Monster'. The combination of Gangseok's and my voice will work well with this song. And Jiwoo will be able to show his dancing skills. Plus, the chorus is addicting too. However, Jisuk, you will not be able to sing a part in this song as your tone is soft and this song is powerful. But you can join in the harmonies. Are you okay with it?"
"It's totally fine, hyung. Since you've already given me a lot of parts for the first song." Jisuk said.
Meanwhile, Jiwoo is already excited and is looking forward to the second song. He can't wait to make a dance choreography that will go well with the song.
"Then let's start practicing." After printing the lyrics, Wooin lead them to the second floor, where the dance studio is located.
He gave a script to Gangseok and Jisuk. They can handle themselves so Wooin left them alone so they can have their individual practice.
Wooin sat beside his younger brother, Jiwoo, and helped him practice his vocal parts.
He wrote pointers on the lyrics sheet. Things like when to breathe while singing and how to connect notes. He patiently guided Jiwoo.
And Jiwoo understood them quickly because as Wooin said, his brother actually has good vocals. His only problem is that he lacks confidence.
This is also one of the reasons why Wooin accepted the invitation to the survival show. To show Jisuk that he sings well. He wanted Jisuk to meet other trainees, specially those who are struggling with their vocal skills. Wooin wanted Jisuk to realize that he is not inferior when it comes to singing.
In fact, Wooin can let Gangseok have all the rap parts in the first song so that he can sing but he chose to give the parts to Jiwoo. Nonetheless. Wooin also liked rapping so all is good.
The survival show will start in a week. So they can only practice for a few days. Wooin is not worried though, because he knew that his members are talented.
Wooin contacted their personal stylist— Han Mina. Wooin told her that they will be needing clothes and informed her that there concept is quite dark and powerful. Han Mina said that the combination of black and red will work best. "Just tell me your sizes and leave the rest to me." Han Mina said.
The four spent days practicing. They polished their choreography and they also worked hard in practicing their vocals. They used cameras to record their dance so that they can monitor their moves. If they saw that they made mistakes, they will immediately make adjustments.
