章 18: Living with The Enemy

Justin didn't like their new addition at all, not only for the fact that he was a member of the Satan's Guild, but the fact that this boy's dreams made achieving his extremely difficult and it seemed had taken a liking to him.

Charles had returned home with the sixteen year old boy and had explained everything to them when he had arrived. Since King couldn't read the boy's mind and find out what he was thinking or what he planned on doing next, Charles was given the responsibility of housing him. He could see the boys actions before he could even think of doing it which made backstabbing almost impossible in his case. He had been ordered that any two faced actions from the boy would be reported to the necessary authorities and the appropriate punishment would be given. He was on no circumstances to take laws into his hands and Charles had agreed. The more the merrier right?

From everything Charles had told them, this boys sudden appearance jeopardized everything he was aiming for. He was the perfect Trump card for breaking the Guild apart. Once the leader was dead, then the followers we're sure to scatter and once scattered, they became easy picks and even more easier to capture or even worse kill. But what would happen when the scattered flock eventually got back? There would be another full blown war and the cycle of death, bloodshed and enemity between the two groups would never end.

That was exactly what would happen if the Advocates went on with this plan and if eventually they succeeded, they would leave the burdens of their mistakes on the younger generation.

He cursed the boy's sudden appearance in his mind, if only they hadn't seen him. If he had succeeded in assassinating his father on his own, then there wouldn't be a war, the Guild members would simply turn on each other since they wouldn't know who to trust amongst themselves any longer.

He wanted to share his ideas and opinions to the others but inferiority complex had gotten the better of him. Everyone here was gifted apart from him, who was he to question their decisions, he was just an ordinary human after all. His heart ached as the words echoed in his head, the voice was right, he was an ordinary man in the midst of gifted people and being here was already enough grace, he shouldn't act out of line by questioning their decisions.

If attacking the Guild through this boy was their plan, then he would work from the shadows to make sure that peace was still achieved as the end result. He had seen enough death and bloodshed in one day

and it wasn't a pleasant sight at all.

Wilson pulled his elder brother aside and tried to talk sense into him. He had heard everything his brother had said and he didn't like it one bit. Not only was the new boy a Guild member, he was their leader's son. Nothing good ever came out from having such person in your custody, not even in the movies.

"The Guild leader's son? Are you being serious right now?" Wilson asked"

"He's our ticket to ending this undying war between the Advocates and the Guild, he's gonna be our eye inside the Guild" Charles replied almost confidently as if he had already seen the entire future.

Wilson shook his head in disappointment. He knew his brother had mental issues after using his powers too much and this was one of those times. He wasn't thinking straight, for all they know he might be a double agent and was probably gaining Intel on the Advocates as they spoke. People like him weren't to be trusted especially since he was a teenager and teenagers never knew what they wanted.

"You'll have to kill him or I will" Wilson vocalized. He didn't like this idea at all and he meant everything he just said.

"Wilson don't" Charles pleaded even though it sounded more like a warning.

"I don't trust him" Wilson succumbed, he didn't want to fight his brother over something that had evil written over it, it was the last thing he'd do.

"Trust me" Charles urged "Trust your big brother and not your teacher this time. It's going to be okay" Charles assured.

"If he pulls any funny tricks them I'm going to behead him myself" Wilson finalized before walking out of the house. He didn't want to be under the same roof with a Guild member and besides, he had stayed over at his brothers place for way too long and needed to go home and put his house in order.

From the way the man had barged out of the house, James could tell that the debate was about him and there were numerous reasons available for that but he didn't want to go into details. He felt scared and there was no denying it. This was his first time in an Advocate's home, an enemy's den and there were more than three of them at home.

The man who had brought him to the house soon surfaced, his face lit with a smile for some reason he didn't know. He had heard arguing moments ago and that was certainly not something to be smiling about

"This will be your new home for now," Charles began "follow me and I will show you to your room" He said before leading the boy up the stairs. The attic of the building used to be his comfort zone. He usually stayed there when he was bored, sometimes even climbing up to the roof to just lay back and relax. It was arranged and a small bed which would probably be enough fit for him was available up there.

Justin could see from his slightly opened door the movements of the two men, but he wasn't really interested in them now, Ashley was yet to wake up and that was what actually bothered him now. He was afraid for her and for himself. If anything happened to her, then he would definitely kill himself.

She was the reason he was still alive and the reason he will keep fighting to make sure that she didn't get caught up in this cult madness. She was the reason why he would put a stop to the enemity between the two societies.
