"Then why haven't you been eating? I noticed you lost some weight."
"I…" Mauve started but the words failed her as she looked for a suitable reason. "I haven't really had much of an appetite." Unable to come up with an excuse, she used the truth.
Jael frowned, his eyebrows dipping as he stared at her. "That's not normal. Your appetite has always been at its peak."
"Jael," she cried. "Don't say it like that."
"You usually like to eat, I don't see what the problem is. Though I can't help but wonder where you keep all that food in this tiny frame of yours."
"Jael," she cried, her face bright red at this point.
"You should eat, don't worry about the pesky issues. I will deal with them." He said and ruffled her hair.
She sank into his embrace giving him access to mess with her hair. For several reasons this was comfortable.
"You don't have to deal with all my problems. I can handle them myself." She mumbled.
