Rune's Side

Rune's vision slowly came into focus as he sat up with a groan. He was in what looked to be a large underground complex of some kind, and the sounds of battle echoed all around him, leaving him slightly disoriented. The sharp sound of something slicing through the air snapped him out of his groggy state, and he quickly worked to form a barrier blade using his magic.

Instead of his magic forming as intended, a sharp pain shot through Rune's dominant arm, and a black three-pronged weapon, which he recognized to be a trident of some kind, continued moving toward his face. His shoulder had been dislocated when he was washed away by the Deep Serpent's breath attack. Whether that was from the attack itself or something that happened when he arrived at the place he was, he did not know, but the fact remained that his dominant arm was useless to him now.
