Walking through a luxurious estate with Shiro at his side, Rune followed Seren down the spacious halls. Surprisingly, the estate was quite a ways away from the council building and was secluded in a small corner that overlooked the ocean shelf that led to the depths.
The building itself was made from exquisite white seastone. Vibrant, crystalline coral accented the decor while many magical elements were worked into the atmosphere. Bubbles drifted here and there, seemingly containing their own underwater ecosystems.
Shiro, unable to restrain her curiosity, reached out and poked one. The surface rippled and shifted slightly before gently floating on. It seemed there was no danger of the bubble popping.
The whole place was much more grand than Rune had been expecting. While everything else in Nereid seemed to favor the metal and scientific aspects of things, Seren's estate was more akin to a natural embodiment of the spirit of the ocean.
I was hinting at Seren being Serac throughout the past couple chapters. I don't think anyone picked up on it, though.
