The sun downed on the duo as they kept moving toward the direction where Licht felt his mana. He knew he would meet Lisha there, but the same didn't apply foe everyone, so he prayed he would meet them.
" That is it. That is the place where we put our tent down."
Licht pointed at the place where the remains of the tent were left. He quickly darted toward the direction, sliding down through the dunes, and found a wolf and a girl, waiting for him while drinking water.
" Lisha, Chono. I knew you could find my traces. So, others didn't manage to find our location, hub? This will be troublesome."
He rubbed his temple with a grave face. In this desert, losing a guide means a death sentence. Hence, people must be extremely cautious.
" I hope they ate with Agam."
Lisha spoke with a light tone, scanning Qattara. Her light brown skin and tall silhouette coupled with her beautiful face and body made Lisha quite jealous. She knew she would reach this level later, but looking at this woman, she could feel the passion of Southern people.
" The cross of the desert is nearby. I am also heading there, so I will guide you. However, you must pay me."
Qattara folded her arms, showing her adamant side to them. Her brown eyes calmly gazed at the powerful beasts and two young duo, not showing any nervousness. Lisha frowned at her behavior, trying to say something but Licht gestured her to be silent.
He could tell this woman had gone through countless hardships and she was extremely powerful. Even Viktor was telling him the same.
" Alright, I will pay you. However, you have to help us find our squad mates."
Licht added a request as he handed her a gemstone. The gemstone glittered under the sun, illuminating the small area with colorful rays.
" Deal. Although sandstorm removed their tracks, I can sense them."
She raised her hands, pulling something from the thin air. It was a red string, stretching beyond their viewpoint, going through the horizon.
" There are two strings here. Your comrades must be divided by the storm. I can find only one group."
Qattara shook her head with a sigh, telling them that she couldn't find the other one. Licht looked at the two strings, and found other was thinner than the former.
" One is thinner than the other. That means this group is likely fewer than others. We will go to the group with a few people. I believe Agam is with the large one."
Licht analyzed the situation, thinking they were divided into different-sized groups and he was right. Qattara acknowledged his analysis as she pulled the thinner one and walked in the direction of the other side.
" The direction isn't far off, but we have a problem. There is a nest of a giant sand scorpion near the direction."
She said with a serious face, telling them to be careful. The giant sand scorpion was a powerful insect tribe that had no contenders in their area. Even earth dragons, giant lizards, and other dominant races tended to avoid them due to their power and number.
Especially a long time ago, there was a scorpion king who could turn himself into a human. His power was beyond any mortal as each step sent tremors through the earth. His real body size almost reached that of a titan and even dragons and gods respected him.
" Are they hostile to humans? I heard they only attack when they are hungry?"
Licht asked calmly, glancing at Qattara who was walking ahead. She momentarily stopped her movements when she heard him as she turned her head with a troubled face.
" Scorpions of the central region might be able to understand humans, but this place doesn't have intelligent scorpions. They are variants of giant golden sand scorpions that are settled in the heart of the desert. Here they are more bloodthirsty and feral due to food shortage."
Qattara answered him, briefly explaining their characteristics. She saw those powerful scorpions and she saw this area's scorpions. The difference between them was like the sky and earth. Royal scorpions were basically natural disasters.
