Huh?Why were some of my goods that were stolen outside my house? Did the thief decided to return my stuff? Wait a minute...if the thief is returning some of our stuff, is the thief mocking us because we couldn't catch them? So did the thief escaped while we were busy at the town hall?
Questions like this started forming in my mind until someone called out to me....
"Mr. Gale!!" I turned around and it was Frisa carrying some utensils panting heavily...
"Mr. Gale! It seems the thief actually returned some of our stuff huff huff..."
"Ca-Calm down Miss Frisa. Yeah it seems the thief returned some of our goods maybe because he couldn't carry it all alone or he is just mocking us!" I don't know why but both of those scenarios are pissing me off.
"So it seems...but if the thief took his time to return are stuff, doesn't that mean the thief is still around here?"
"..." Oh wait yeah. The thief might still be around
"We have to hurry! Let's gather some more people and look for them!" and so we split up and started looking for any abnormalities.
It seems everyone was confused too...some people got all their goods back, some people got none of their goods back while some people had their goods swapped....
It was chaos again. Is the thief seriously messing with us? I kept looking until...."SOMEONE IS LYING ON THE GROUND!!LOOK!!"....I heard a scream just few metres away and went to check it out.
There was a man lying on the ground injured. His clothes were torn and was bleeding heavily. I quickly went towards him to check him and some of his bones were broken. He needed immediate checkup.
The person injured tried to lift his hands and tried to say something but I said him to take it easy
"....Three....people..." he still said it "...black...hood" *cough* *cough*...he coughed up blood before fainting.
.....what was even happening here anymore...
Who were we even up against? What even are the robbers looking for? I was angry. For what reason did they injured this young man so much?Because he simply caught them? I was gritting my teeth in anger that I didn't noticed that the town elder had come here
"....Mr. Gale? What's the condition for young Oren?"
"....I managed to stop the bleeding with my herbs but for the bones....we need recovery magic.." I answered frustratingly
"I see." he continued "...Alright everyone this changes things, Close all the entry gates of the town! Don't let the thieves leave from here! Do it immediately and after this come to the town hall after an hour for the meeting! Until then keep searching for the robbers and if you find them, don't engage in battles and call for help!" and so he went away

Feeling frustrated I returned home. I was feeling bitter and hungry...I felt like I haven't eaten for days and I have ignored Tama the full day too. I had to divert my mind somehow so I went to my room to check on Tama but he was still sleeping. That was weird, Tama isn't that lazy of a beast to be sleeping all day long, infact he hasn't even moved an inch since morning....What? I was worried and went near Tama but to my relief, he was still breathing...but why hasn't he woken up yet? Was he going through another evolution? I could sense the little dragon gathering a little bit of mana around his belly but for sleeping this long? I decided to pick up Tama and keep him on my bed so he could be more comfortable but when I picked him up...I noticed a weird mark around his head..he seemed to have a cross on his head..
Huh? I went to check my notes on evolution and dragons and found nothing about it. But it was definitely a mark I have seen it....did Tama injure himself somehow? That's why he was sleeping? Worried I decided to check my old medical books about beasts and found something.
[A magical beast that has a cross-shaped scar on his forehead is dangerous for his health. If the magical beast is sleeping, he had to be immediately woken up or else there might be a danger of the beast never waking up....] I closed my book..I was panicking. How did that scar formed on his forehead? It isn't something that happens naturally...I had no time to think about it and had to put my energy to wake up Tama. I opened my book again to see how to cure it.
So all I had to create was a medicine that will wake him up from his sleep.
I needed few carvus herbs, 3 spoons of red chili, green chili, some salt, a cup of water and 2 spoons of honey.
Luckily I had all the items in my house
I picked up some carvus herbs from my clinic
(Carvus herbs are some leaves grown in mountain regions, they are not good for direct consumption and are one of the spiciest herbs in this country), churned them in a bowl, added 2 tablespoons salt, some red and green chili and put it to boil...then I added 2 spoons of honey and finally added some water to it...
For the final touch I had to directly put some red chili powder for it to work.
When I was finished...all that was left was a bowl with purple tonic ready to melt anything. It was pretty hot. Still I had to wake Tama up so I went upstairs and feed Tama the tonic I created...I gave Tama 3 spoons of this tonic and then suddenly he jumped up from his sleep and used his flame breathe on me...
He woke up energetic and was running around the room...Aaah I am so glad everything went right!!!
After this someone knocked my door....I locked my room and decided to check it out.
It was Alicia who knocked my door.
"Good evening Mr. Gale! The village elder has summoned you." she continued "and it seems....we actually have a plan to catch those thieves....."
