"Hello, Avatar Aang. I am Avatar Gun."
"You're another Avatar!" said Aang in surprise. Gun stepped forward closer to Aang and said, "Aang, you must let go." "What do y-" Aang paused as he realized. "Oh..." Gun kneels down to Aang's height and says, "Aang, grieving over Appa won't change things. It won't end the War. You need to focus on what's important."
"But Appa is important," replied Aang. "Appa is not just a sky bison. He's my friend. I've already lost Appa, and I can't afford to lose anyone else." "I see," says Gun. "I understand where you're coming from."
Aang questions him, "What do you mean?"
Flashback (with narration from Gun):
"In my time as the Avatar, I had a companion, no, a best friend. His name was Mesose. He always liked to write poems and I would always listen as he read them to me. Then, one day, a tsunami hit the city of Ha'an. I tried to stop it, but Mesose got caught in the disaster and perished."
"MESOSE!!!!!" Gun yelled as Mesose got caught in the disaster.
Back to present...
"I was so devastated," Gun explained. "His death caused me to refrain from my duties as the Avatar. That's why you can't risk your emotions getting in the way as your purpose."
"I understand," Aang replied. Aang exited the Avatar State and his vision returned to normal. Aang looked up in the night sky and said quietly, "I'm gonna find you buddy. Just wait for me."
