章 7: First Day

'These spells are perfect!' Ray smiles, as he gets up and straightens his back. 'Now it is time to act like a god.'
Ray walks outside and sees the family already lined up, with nervous faces.
"Now, I already know Seirai's name, but what about the rest of you?" Ray says with very little emotion in his voice.
"Leon!" The man says.
"Modri!" The child says.
"Now what skills do you all have?" Ray responds
"I am a carpenter and I have Earth affinity," Leon Responds.
"I am a warrior with Speed and Fire affinity," Seirai says.
"I am training to be a warrior like my mother, and I have the wind and Earth affinity." Modri says.
"Perfect, well I assume you would all like a home and would prefer not to live out in the open. So I have a job for each of you,
Modri and Leon, Due to your earth affinity, you will be in charge of making temporary stone homes until you can build proper houses,
as well as tunnels beneath us for a safer place in case of emergencies.
Seirai, you will be in charge of protecting them while they work, as well as hunting for food and as foraging for other resources." Ray says.
"Yes sir!" They say in unison.
"One last thing before I go." Ray says as he taps leon's forehead,

"W-woah…" Leon says in pure shock as information on construction floods into his mind.
"Now, I will be departing for a while. I have been intrigued by this magical college and decided to enroll. I will be back later in the day" Ray says as he walks off, heading to the college.

"Hey Ray!" Victoria shouts as she walks up in her school uniform, which is a mix of gold and silver with blue highlights, long formal pants and white dress shoes.
"Hello Victoria, hm? You traded one school uniform for another?" Ray asks.
"Obviously! This is my first year here as well, and I just got my royal uniform!
Oh! I almost forgot, they tried to send you yours but couldn't find you, so I said I would give you yours!"
Victoria says as she rummages through her bag and pulls out a package.
"I have to wear a uniform? All right… I'll be back." Ray says as he walks off mildly annoyed.

'Hm… Doesn't look half bad.'
Ray is wearing a similar uniform to Victoria's, but it is instead a mix of black and red with dark purple highlights.
Ray walks back out and joins Victoria and walks into the College.
"Alright, because you are a commoner, and a magic initiate, you will most likely be put in the bottom floor of the seventh spire." Victoria says.
"How do I get higher?" Ray asks.
"Getting stronger and getting a ranking, the school follows a general ranking system of the circles of magic you have, then after that, there are the top 200 students in each grade level.
The main issue you will face is the fact that you are a commoner means you won't get much support from the Magi Alumni who normally select an apprentice of noble birth." Victoria responds.
They both continue to walk and eventually split apart as Ray heads to the seventh spire, and Victoria heads to the third.
'This school is massive, but why do they care about nobility so much?
I mean I guess in this world bloodlines do mean more, but to cause this level of disparity?' Ray thinks as he is walking down the hallway.
As he is walking, he sees some people dressed in black uniforms and golden uniforms fighting each other using a variety of magic.
'Jeez it's the first day and there is already a fight?! Well, not my business.' Ray sighs as he walks around the fight, but as he does a person is thrown back, slamming into him.
"Alright! Guess I am involved!" Ray shouts as he infuses mana into him as he throws the person back slamming into another student, sent crashing into the wall after.
"Now, Stop fighting and piss off!" Ray yells as he begins to walk away with a face of mild annoyance.
"Hey get back here you low bred peasant!" One of the students dressed in the golden uniform says as he condenses a bolt made of wind and fires it off at Ray.

'This bitch! Rapid step!'
Ray quickly shifts out of the way, and dashes at the person who fired the bolt at him, and jumps spinning around kicking him in the side.
'Might as well try this.'
"Gravity Affinity: Weighted Impact!" Ray says as the impact sends the man into the wall crashing through it.
"Anyone else want to fight? Hm? Good, now go to class and quit being a nuisance!" Ray says with a voice filled with anger, as he continues on his way.
Ray enters the class and takes a seat. After around thirty minutes of waiting, the rest of the class fills up as class begins.
A tall skinny man with hair that is half blue and half yellow, walks in and says,
"Good morning commoners and weaklings, welcome to the first class of this semester, a warning that I should say now is,
If you are still in this class by the end of this month, you are going to be expelled, we have no use for the powerless.
The only way to advance out of this class is to advance into at least the first circle as a mage." The professor says.
"And if we already are that?" Ray says.
"Then congratulations, you aren't as pathetic as the rest, now shut up and pay attention to the rest of what I have to say." The teacher responds.
"My name is Geril Aldanz. I am the professor of the first 10 floors of the seventh spire. In order to get to the eleventh floor,
You have to learn 4 spells, show the ability to infuse magic, and finally, you have to beat someone who is already on the eleventh floor.
We have limited spots, so hurry up and claw your way up.
You there, the idiot that spoke up earlier, you will attend classes on the third floor from now on, those classes take place from 5pm to 8pm, so I will see you then." Geril says.

Ray walks out of the class, and heads towards a staff area.
After a bit he hears,
"Hey, what are you doing here?" A person says.
"Oh that didn't take long, do you know where the library is?" Ray asks.
"Did you not get the school's package? Whatever, come with me, I will show you." The staff member responds as they walk off heading towards the library.
