章 29: Chapter 29: Doubts

“Hey, did something happen?” she asked, sitting up in the bed.

“What are you doing?” Scott asked, confusion clear in his voice.

“What do you mean?” Florence frowned.

“Why are you sleeping here?” he took a step forward, entering the room.

Florence swallowed, finding it hard to think of a good answer to give him now. She knew why she made that decision when she went to that bedroom, but now it sounded stupid even in her mind.

“I thought…”

“You thought what?” Scott continued, getting closer to her. His steps were hard on the floor, and Florence could clearly see his face now that he was so close to the light.

He looked really pissed.

“I thought this was my room. Isn’t it? We’re supposed to be living a fake marriage, aren’t we?”

Scott scoffed, clearly in disbelief.

“Are you kidding me right now? So, what was all that about? We basically spent every night together and slept in the same bed,” he pointed out incredulously.
