章 6: Chapter 6 Injustice
Standing at the edge of a waterfall holding a small bag filled with gold objects,I waved goodbye to Gran Fall and the shandia tribe leader and a few others.
"Goodbye everyone. It was nice to have met you guys. Stay safe and be well until we meet again."
Gan Fall and the others waved back. " Good luck. Enjoy your journey and may you experience many good things."
With that they once again rung the bell as a send off for me as I leapt high and just simply furled my wings in and just free down the open sky. 10,000 meters is quite high and as a person who is used to being in the sky, free falling is just like a walk down the stairs or going down a slide the main problem is what I should do from now.
Well I should probably take some time and settle down on a piece of vearth where there is a decent group of people and exchange my gold for their currency which I learned is called Belly.
Soon enough after about an hour of free falling and passing through light clouds, I can finally see it. The blue sea that sparkles as it reflects the sun rays. A strong smell of salt hit my nose as a gentle breeze came and went. I open my arms and wings wide as I floated in place, embracing everything within my surroundings.
Here I come world.
Although i am say that... well I am little lost right now. Floating in place, I have no idea where I am or where to go from here, what kind of life should I experience or goal should I achieve. From the small conversation I had with Gan Fall the night before, pirates were a group of people who sought
untold riches left behind a pirate king. Well I know money isn't everything in this world and I'm not sure if I want that kind of lifestyle of chasing money. What am I even going to buy?
Anyways I'm just going to go north until I see vearth and figure it out then.
After a few days of moderate flying, I had already grown a little tired or sick of this endless blue sea, thankfully my strength and endurance was high or else I would've simply died by falling into the ocean after exhausting my strength haha. But eventually I have finally caught sign of vearth, not too far into the distance, which made me excited and I sped off at full speed, cutting the distance quickly and arrived at the harbor within minutes.
As soon as I landed, I recieved several strange looks as they stared at me with curiosity.
After a few minutes of staring, there was one brave and curious girl who walked out towards me and stood right in front of me. She looked to be about 8 years old with twin pigtails that reached to her shoulders.
She began looking closely at my wings and my handsome appearance. With her eyes starting to sparkle, she asked me, "Mr Angel, Are those wings real? Can I touch them?"
Laughing at her innocence, i crouched down to where our eyes met, I smiled brightly and replied, " Yes, of course it is. You can touch them if you want to haha."
As if our brief simple interaction was enough for the other people still staring at me understood that I am not here to harm them or have ill intent everyone slight relaxed and breathed in a sigh of relief.
With the little girl smiling brightly at my response, she jumped in excitement as she quickly circled around and starting touching my wings.
She observed them as she did see that it was attached to my back and even brought it close to her face as she said, " haha they are real! It's soo soft too."
Smiling at her reaction, I picked her up into my arms and said, " Little girl, what's your name. Where's your parents?"
Sarah" Mr. Angel. My name is Sarah. My parents are working right now so im just playing with some friends until they are done."
As if it was a signal that I am a friendly person, other kids that were with their parents quickly gave them a look and recieved a nod in response and quickly ran up to me circling me, curious and wanted to touch my wings too.
My response didn't change with them too. After all, what kind of person would reject their innocence if they are trying to get along with the area they are in.
I played with them for a few minutes as I manipulated some of my energy to give them little wings and had them fly around, but still low to the ground so that I won't give their parents too much of a scare.
Eventually a young couple walked forwards and approached me with a smile. " Good afternoon sir. How can we help you? Is there anything you need from our small little island?"
I put the kids down gently and reached my hands forwards as I wanted to shake their hands, which the other party responded in kind. " Hello, I'm Michael. As you can tell, I'm lost and really not from around here. If you can, can you help me find a place to lodge in and to trade in some goods for belly."
The man smiled and responded, " Hello, Michael. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Bane, one of this village's leaders. This is my wife sandy. You are on the island blue Ivy located in first half of the Grandline. If you can follow me, we can meet the village chief and discuss things further with him and we can help settle you down after."
I nodded my head. "Please lead the way."
I followed the lead of the two young couple as Sarah didn't leave my arms but the other kids were a little and that I would leave so soon.
After a few minutes of walking, we reached a slightly larger building and walked in and reached the door to a particular room.
Bane knocked on the door, " Chief, we have a guest here for you."
A voice responded, " Okay, I've already heard the news. Let him in."
Bane opened the door and I let Sarah down as I walked in and saw a middle aged man with reading glasses sitting behind a desk full of stacked papers.
" Hello, I'm michael. I would like to learn more about this area, the Grandline and the geography and possibly some traditions around these parts."
After I finished saying this, Sarah ran towards the middle aged man and yelled excitedly, " Daddy daddy Daddy, look, look its an angel. My prayers worked Daddy. God sent an angel to help us!"
The middle aged man smiled and said, " now now, little one. You can calm down." He looked at me once again and said, " Forgive me for asking, but could I ask where you can from?"
I smiled as I pointed from the sky, " From the sky."
Sarah screamed in excitement once more, " See, see, see."
She continued to jump around in excitement and circled around me as if I am someone who had answered her questions and prayers.
The middle aged man sighed and said, " Sarah, why don't you leave and let me and this angel of yours talk things over. We can't just let a guess be treated wrongly right."
Sarah stood in spot and looked a little sad but brightened up again as if she understood that it was not time for serious grown up talk.
She soon left the room and Bane closed the doors while he stood by the door as his wife stood outside with Sarah.
" I'm sorry about my daughter, I hope she didn't cause any inconvenience."
I replied with a smile, " Hardly. In fact I enjoyed her company."
" My name is Warner. I am the village chief of this island. You seem like a kind person, so I welcome you this small island of ours, and we will treat you as a guest. You can ask Bane for any assistance in getting settled in."
I nodded in response as everything has been going smoothly, but I briefly remembered what the little cheerful girl had said about answering her prayers. What could this small friendly island have trouble in that she would ask God for help.
I asked, " Forgive me for intruding on your matters but can I ask what is happening or wrong here. From what Sarah has said earlier it seems like you guys are having some troubles."
Warner wirely smiled and replied, " It's nothing too uncommon in this part of the sea. Its just a few pirates that comes and cause trouble and wreck havoc here and there. There are some Navy Marines that patrol around this area, but they're not helping much either. They chase off the pirates every now and then, but never catch them, but they demand high payment in return for driving off those pirates. But the pirates still come and wreck havoc."
I frowned as I heard this. " How disappointing! Is it not their job to keep peace within the sea? They do nothing and yet they demand payment?!"
Maybe it's the soldier in me that causes anger to rise in me. Soldiers are meant to keep peace and fight off people who causes harm to the common people.
I looked to the man in front of me and asked, " Do you want me to help? It's the least I can for your hospitality. It's also the least I can do to make that kind girl happy. "
Warner smiled and shook his head, " Yes, but for how long. There are numerous pirates in these parts of land. If we can't handle it ourselves or recieve the proper help, then what will we do once you do leave this place. You are a guest, so you can stay as long as you like and I don't want to bring our small troubles to you."
I was about to respond back, but I can see the determination in his eyes. As a outsider of this village, I may cause more harm then help if I don't fully grasp the situation and do things on impulse.
I nodded my head as I sighed, " I understand then. But please, if things don't look good, then please ask me. Until I leave, I'll be ready to help with whatever you need."
