章 29: Chapter 29: Square One

Faster than she thought possible, Mila found herself back in the car, leaving Red Fang with a promise from Isla that she would let the boys know what happened. She was a little surprised when Rowan woke her up to eat something.

By the dawn of the next day, they were back home. Although Mila recalled vaguely being carried out of the car, she couldn't say who it was. She woke up in her bed with Josiah peeking into her room to see if she was awake.

“Hey, how did you sleep?” Josiah asked gently.

“Like the dead,” Mila grunted.

A grin appeared on his face. “Yes, you tried to convince me to undress you and help you into your pyjamas. The compromise was that you would wear my sweatshirt, and then you got into bed and threw your jeans at me from under the blankets.”

Mila facepalmed. “I didn’t even drink.”

“Sleep is a different kind of drunk,” Josiah consoled her. “When you’re ready, I have breakfast ready. I have the day off.”
