章 24: [Bonus chapter]Investor

Angelina anticipated that she would have difficulty sleeping tonight. She wasn't expecting to fall asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Andrew's final words of promise appear to work a spell on her.

Lucy, on the other hand, had no idea Angelina had already left the banquet with Andrew.

"If you're looking for your boss. She'd already gone with Andrew." He noticed her searching for Angelin. "You can see she prioritized a guy over friends." In a playful tone, he said.

Lucy had a sour feeling. Andrew appears to have made a small inroad into her heart. That she had forgotten about her. On the one hand, she was happy for her boss because she had someone in her life, but on the other hand, she felt a sense of crisis as she would lose her place in her life.

"All right, let's go. I'm going to drop you. I'm not like your cold-hearted boss."

Lucy cast him a cold glance. "Don't try to be cool. Andrew has also left you alone here. He always acts in accordance with his desires. I am clearly different from you. We respect each other's personal space, and my boss is the greatest." She walked away after expressing her rage.

Grayson jogged after her as she walked away from there. "Hey".

"Stop. Your boss is the best. Do you want me to drive you back to your house now?"

"Humph, whatever."

Grayson shook his head. When anyone says something bad about Angelina, she acts like a child. It appears that he should make an effort to get into her good books. Otherwise, these two people will make his life miserable.

The Following Day

Angelina noticed Lucy acting strangely in the morning.

"These are the documents that require your signature." *THUD* She placed the file on the table with a loud thud.

Angelina raised an eyebrow as she observed her behavior. "Stop it right now. Why are you having a meltdown today? Are you having your period? That's the only explanation for your mood swings."

Lucy's face twitched as she observed her boss's casual behavior after leaving her alone. "Angelina, you abandoned me last night."

"We're at working hours, you can't address me by name." Angelina reprimanded her.

"F*** with work hours. Because you left without informing, Grayson got the opportunity to badmouth you."

"Oh, so you're not mad at me. You are directing your rage at the wrong person because I have never bad-mouthed anyone." Angelina was amused to see her assistant turn bright red with rage.

Lucy took a deep breath to calm herself down. "I apologize, boss. I shouldn't lose my cool." She immediately went into business mode.

"I apologize for not informing you sooner. I was tired and forgot to notify you." Angelina knew she'd made a big mistake, and it's not a big deal for her to apologize for it.

"OK, enough drama; get back to work." With that Angelina went back to her working mode.

Andrew knew he had to meet with the director and the producer for his upcoming project.

And now that he was finally here, he could only hope all the things he wanted would be met.

The air around him changed as the older-looking men's smiles gave him an eerie feeling.

The director sat cross-legged in front of him, rubbing his hands and parting his lips to address him.

"We have a new investor for your film," the older man said, casting a thoughtful glance at Andrew.

"Mr. Martins?" Andrew inquired quietly.

"I don't think there is a need for another investor for this film. We already have enough funds."

A slow smug smile worked its way across his face and into his eyes as his gaze narrowed on Andrew.

For some reason, Andrew felt different and did not bother hiding the frown on his face.

The way the director and the producer were looking at him gave him the impression that they were up to something bad.

Regardless, he kept his back straightened where he sat while his eyes hid his emotion.

No sooner had he done that than a young lady walked into the office, wearing a plain coloured light green fitted gown with a pair of white sandal heels and a bag to match.

His brows drew close together as his eyes squinted further at her. When he saw the person willing to invest in the film, his assumption was immediately confirmed.

"Hello, we meet again. Andrew," the young lady addressed, in an informal tone as though they were close acquaintances.

Not bothering to hide his indifference and anger anymore, his eyes turned cold as he glanced at her with stern frightening eyes.

His eyes narrowed further before diverting his attention from her to the two culprits seated opposite him.

"Mr Martins, Mr Jeremy," he began, taking his time in calling out their names while laying so much emphasis on his tone.

"If she," he shifted his gaze a bit to the inside as a form of silent gesturing and then averted his gaze back. "Become an investor in this film, I will have to withdraw."

Their eyes went wide with shock at his words. Both men were taken aback by the abrupt change in demeanor.

"Andrew, what's the problem with Miss Melissa investing in this film?" Mr Jeremy questioned quickly.

Immediately the smile of satisfaction in his eyes faded away and his eyes held a glint of mischief in them while wearing his cold smirk on his face.

"Don't you realize how powerful her family history is? Remember that if you back out, you must pay a significant amount of compensation," he warned sternly.

Letting out a sharp breath, Andrew gave him a chilling look as he dared him, "If that's what you're looking for, I'm willing to pay for it."

Without a second more to waste, he rose to his feet while casting one last long glance at them.

"I'll pay you back with interest."

Melissa clenched her teeth, trying to suppress her rage. When people learn about her family background, they will bow in front of her and give into all of her demands. Her blood boils when she sees Andrew's attitude toward her. Her hatred for Angelina grew stronger.

'Let's see. If you're still with that bi**ch after learning the truth about her.' Her lips were distorted in a twisted smile.
