As Roman told his story about what happened that night, Poppy glared at Jaxson who clearly had no intent of looking her in the eye.

"So, that's it. I was in Paris, checking out one of this asshole's sales events for models, and Rick and Tate found me. He's kidnapping woman, children and homeless for sex trafficking and sick hunting games. He's murdered whole families. He's a fucking monster and he will pay for his crimes against the families and humanity. I'll be sure of it. There's so much this bastard has done I can't even go into it all right now. All I know is, he won't be getting married to anyone. Especially not my princess."

Hearing Poppy call her that made her heart feel full. The emptiness she had felt without him, replaced with joy of knowing he was alive and well. She had always held hope, and there he was in all his gorgeous glory.

Jaxson's father stepped to Roman giving him a shove. "Don't you talk to my son that way. He's in charge now. Not you."
