ARIANNE POV
Nyana stared at me, her face that of glee as if I was a lost daughter returning back home and in a way, maybe I was but I still refuse to acknowledge that woman as my mother. Not after what she fucking did to my family.
"Arianne!" Azar breathed, his face one of awe and wonder.
My gaze fell on Azar, staring at him with a look of anger on my face. He really shouldn't call me like that, not when he was the cause of all of this.
I could feel Ivan's gaze on me the entire time, his eyes filled with concern and understanding. But I couldn't bring myself to look at him. I couldn't allow myself to be vulnerable, not when I was in front of my family. A moment of weakness would give Nyana the opening she was looking for, and I couldn't afford to let my guard down.
"Oh darling daughter of mine, welcome!" Nyana said, still smiling, "I have missed you!"
"Let them go!" I demanded pointing the sword at her.
