ARIANNE POV
A small snort escaped my lips as I woke up with a start, the sound of a distant noise jolting me from my slumber. Confusion clouded my mind as I blinked in the darkness, trying to make sense of my surroundings. The light that Tag'arkh had conjured had dimmed down completely, leaving us in a shroud of shadows once again.
Fuck, we fell asleep! I muse and turned to look at Tag'arkh who was still beside me. I shifted a little seeming to notice that the pain from the wound seemed to have lessened, but it still lingered, a dull ache that refused to fade. With a sense of urgency, I reached out and shook her gently, my voice filled with concern.
"Tag'arkh, wake up." I called shoving her a little, "Something's not right," I whispered, my heart racing with unease.
Tag'arkh stirred, groaning softly as she opened her eyes. Confusion flickered in her gaze as she tried to focus in the darkness, her hand instinctively going to her wound.
