Taking some time apart from Ivan was actually proving to be difficult that I imagined. It was what I wanted, actually no, it was what I needed to do because I never wanted this at all! It was killing me slowly on the inside and I swear when the carriage began to move, I almost got down and run back to my mate. But when I turned to look back at the castle to see if Ivan was still there, he wasn't though, he was gone! Throughout the entire ride to the kingdom of the Vikings, I felt my heart shatter, even our bond weakened as we moved farther away from each other.

I was grateful neither Harald nor Freya said anything when I was unable to hold back my tears anymore. A tear rolled down my cheek which I brushed away with my knuckles, after that I couldn't back my tears anymore. I couldn't even hold back the sob, I cried uncontrollably Harald had to carry Cyril away from my arms when she was getting uncomfortable with my loud wailings.
