I didn't know how much I cried for but I cried till my eyes hurt from shedding tears. The pain I felt was raw and deep inside my chest. I laid down on the ground next to Ivan's body. Ivan was still he didn't move. Not when I traced my hands on his eyelashes or place my fingers on his lips. I laid still beside him, silently hoping he would turn to me with that smirk of his and tell me he was just joking.

I inched closer to him and placed a hand on his chest. There was no heartbeat! Tears welled up my eyes as the reality of what actually happened finally dawned on me. I released a shuddering breath as I clutched Ivan's body closer to mine.

"How long is she going to be like this?" I heard Aurora ask.

"It's been three hours already!" Harald whispered harshly.

Kiran sighed. "Give her time, she's just lost her mate."
